Will emphasize on railway infrastructure

Talking to the media on Friday, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that in the financial year 2023-24, the emphasis will be on railway infrastructure. A total of 7,000 km of new railway tracks will be laid this year. Along with this, ‘Jan Suvidha’ stores will be opened at a total of 2,000 railway stations which will operate 24 hours.

Significantly, in this financial year, the work of laying up to 4,500 kilometers of tracks has been done so far. Along with this, he said that the aim of the Railways is that every railway passenger can get confirmed tickets. For this, Railways has decided to increase its ticket capacity from 25,000 to 2.25 lakh. Along with this, there is a target to increase the capacity of Railway Inquiry from 4 lakh to 40 lakh.

Railways got an allocation of Rs 2.40 lakh crore in the budget

In the budget 2023 presented on February 1, 2023, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has given a big gift to the Railways. The biggest ever allocation has been made to Railways. The government wants to modernize it by spending Rs 2.40 lakh crore on the railways. This money will be spent on the modernization, service and security of the railways.
