Indian Railway Refund rules: Do you know that there is a condition in which you get your money refunded even after travelling in the train.
You know that if a train is cancelled or a ticket is not confirmed, the railways refunds the fare. Furthermore, if you are unable to travel due to a train delay, your fare is refunded. However, did you know that there is a situation where even if the train is not delayed and you have already traveled, the fare is still refunded? You might be wondering when this happens… So, let us tell you about the railway rule that allows passengers to get their ticket money back even after traveling.
When do you get the rent?
It should be noted that when an LLC certificate is issued by the ticket checker on the train, you can travel on the train and receive a refund of some of your ticket money. LLC stands for Lower Class Certificate. Once issued by the TTE, the money is refunded.
In what situations does TTE issue this certificate?
In fact, a video is going viral on social media claiming that the Karnataka Sampark Kranti train replaced the AC First Class with an HA coach. In an HA coach, half the compartment is First Class and the other half is Second AC. As a result, passengers who had booked First AC tickets were left without seating and had to sit in Second AC instead of First AC. In this case, the TTE issued an LLC certificate, which allows the ticket fare difference to be refunded.
It should be noted that this pass is issued when a passenger is forced to travel in a lower category than the one listed on their ticket for some reason. For example, it can be issued if there is a fault in an AC coach, or if a fault requires traveling in a sleeper class. In this situation, the railway provides a refund. For example, if a passenger has booked a ticket in second AC and then has to travel in third AC or sleeper class, the TTE can issue this pass. The difference will be refunded.
When is a ticket refunded?
– If someone’s train is cancelled, the entire fare will be refunded and there will be no need to file TDR for this.
– If the train is partially cancelled or its route is changed, then refund is given, but for this TDR will have to be filed.
– If the train is delayed by 3 hours or more from its scheduled departure time and the passenger does not travel, a TDR must be filed for a full refund. By filing a TDR within the prescribed time limit, the passenger can claim a full refund of the fare.
