For those who pay tax on income, it is necessary to file income tax return. The Income Tax Department has opened the portal for the assessment year (AY) 2022-23 . Also, the department is informing such people through email to file ITR soon. Such people can easily file ITR for the assessment year 2022-23. After login by opening the website of Income Tax Department, you will see two forms ITR-1 and ITR-4, out of which you have to choose any one. After that the already fed data comes in front of you. In which you will have to verify every single data.

Let us tell you, the name of ITR-1 is Sahaj Form and most of the taxpayers fill this form. In this form, a lot of information of the taxpayer is pre-filled. The taxpayer will only have to verify the same. After this the process of filling your ITR is completed. If any information in this form is wrong then you will have to correct it.

There are many documents required while filing income tax return. Prominent among these are PAN Card, Aadhar Card Form 16 , Bank Account Details , Certificate of your Investment, Income Proof etc.

Along with all these, you must have a valid e-mail id on which the Income Tax Department sends all the mails related to ITR.

People whose income from job, property, investment etc. up to 50 years will fill ITR-1.

People whose annual income is more than Rs 50 lakh, they file ITR-4. Such people cannot file ITR-1. The last date to file ITR for the financial year 2021-2022 is 31 July 2022.
