ITR Filing Last Date 2022 Updates: The last date for filing income tax returns in the financial year 2021-22 has arrived. Taxpayers can file ITR today i.e. till 31st July 2022. If you have not filed ITR yet, complete it today to avoid penalty. So far more than 5 crore returns have been filed.

It has been said by tweeting on behalf of Income Tax India that by 30 July 2022, more than 5 crore people had filed their ITR. The last date to file ITR for assessment year 2022-23 is July 31, 2022. If you have not filed your ITR yet, do so immediately and avoid late fees. So far, no official confirmation has been made by the Income Tax Department regarding the extension of the last date.

Aaykar Seva Kendra will open on Sunday also

Today is the last date to file ITR, as well as Sunday. For this, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), the regulatory body of the Income Tax Department, has ordered to open Aaykar Seva Kendras across the country even though it is Sunday. A senior official said that the problems related to the e-filing portal are being resolved immediately. Along with this, all the questions of the taxpayers are being answered.

Let us tell you that the last date for filing income tax return is 31 July. Although ITR can be filed even after July 31, taxpayers may have to pay a penalty for doing so. Talking about the amount of fine, if someone’s income is more than 5 lakh per annum, then he will have to pay a fine of Rs 5000, apart from this, if the income is less than Rs 5 lakh per annum, then he will have to pay a fine of Rs 1000.
