Batwara 1947, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan Productions, is set against the backdrop of the 1947 Partition of India.

The film features an ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal, Abhimanyu Singh, Khushi Hajare and Kanikka Kapur.
The project also marks Preity Zinta’s return to the big screen after an eight-year gap.
Music for the film has been composed by AR Rahman, with lyrics written by Javed Akhtar. The movie has received clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification without cuts and is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on August 14.
