Ayodhya Liquor and Meat Selling Ban News: Ayodhya: The executive committee of the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation has passed a proposal to ban the sale of liquor and meat on the 14 kilometer long stretch of Ram Path.
Ram Mandir is located on Rampath and it is an important route connecting the cities of Ayodhya and Faizabad.
The ban will also apply to advertisements of paan, gutkha, bidi, cigarette and underwear for both men and women. Ayodhya Mayor Girish Pati Tripathi announced the decision on Thursday.
Ayodhya Liquor and Meat Selling Ban News: The mayor said, ‘The executive committee of Ayodhya Municipal Corporation consisting of the mayor, deputy mayor and 12 councillors passed a resolution to implement this ban to maintain the true religious spirit of the city.’ The executive committee includes only one Muslim councillor, Sultan Ansari, who is from the BJP.
Sale of meat and alcohol has been banned in Ayodhya city for a long time, but currently sale of meat and alcohol is allowed on the Ram Path, which starts from the banks of the Saryu river and stretches for five kilometers in Faizabad city. The purpose of this decision is to apply the restrictions imposed in Ayodhya to the entire Ram Path, which also includes areas inside Faizabad city.
Ayodhya Liquor and Meat Selling Ban News: The details and timeline for the implementation of this ban is expected to be announced by the Municipal Corporation soon.
