NEET UG 2026 Re-exam Date: NTA has announced the date for re-examination of NEET UG exam. This exam will be held on 21 June 2026. More than 22 lakh students had appeared in this exam held on 03 May. However, this exam was later cancelled due to paper leak. NTA has issued a fresh notification in this regard. With the approval of the Government of India, the re-examination of NEET-UG 2026 will now be held on Sunday, 21 June 2026. This announcement is big news for lakhs of students preparing for admission in medical courses.
The meeting was held at the residence of Union Education Minister Pradhan
Earlier, a high-level meeting was held at the residence of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday night. It discussed the preparations for conducting the fresh National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) – Undergraduate (UG). Secretary (Higher Education) Vineet Joshi, Secretary (School Education) Sanjay Kumar, Director General of National Testing Agency (NTA) Abhishek Singh, Chairman of CBSE and Commissioners of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) along with other senior officials were present in the long-drawn review meeting. Official sources said that various aspects related to the conduct of the entrance exam for medical courses were discussed in detail in the meeting.

The May 3rd admissions exam for undergraduate courses in medical colleges was canceled following allegations of paper leaks. 2.3 million candidates participated in the exam. The government has handed over the case to the CBI to investigate the alleged irregularities. Several people have been arrested in this case so far.

Meanwhile, in its official notice, the NTA has urged candidates and parents to rely only on official communication sources for exam-related updates. The agency also advised students not to rely on rumors or unverified information circulating on social media platforms and messaging groups.

This time the security will be stricter than before
It is understood that stricter surveillance and security measures are expected for the NEET UG re-exam, scheduled for June 21. Officials are hoping to implement more stringent protocols at exam centers, stronger digital surveillance, and stricter handling of confidential material to ensure transparency and restore confidence among students.
