Railway New Rule: A new rule of Indian Railways has come into effect from today i.e. 15th July 2025. Now passengers will get some more convenience in Tatkal ticket booking.
Every day lakhs of passengers travel by railways. In such a situation, Indian Railways keeps changing its rules from time to time to provide better facilities to the passengers. Recently, Indian Railways implemented new rules from July 1, which included rules ranging from ticket booking to changes in ticket prices.
What is the new rule
Today, from July 15, 2025, another new rule of Indian Railways has come into effect. According to the new rule, now passengers will have to do Aadhaar OTP verification for Tatkal ticket booking through IRCTC website or app. Now passengers will have to verify themselves with the OTP received on the mobile number linked to the Aadhaar card. This new rule will bring transparency and it will also be easier for common passengers to get Tatkal tickets.
Why was such a rule introduced?
As soon as Tatkal ticket booking starts, most of the tickets are booked by agents within 30 minutes. Due to which common people face a lot of difficulty in getting tickets.

Please note that Tatkal ticket booking for AC starts at 10 AM. Tatkal ticket booking for non-AC starts at 11 AM.
