People who want to get a new passport made or renewed in Taj City Agra will not have to wait for two months. Now their application form will be submitted faster. Regional Passport Office Ghaziabad has increased the number of applications in four Head Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK) including Agra and Vrindavan. Here 90 applicants will be able to submit their forms every day instead of 40. At the same time, 10 applicants will be able to get the PCC process done.

Let us tell you that passports of people from 13 districts are made from the Regional Passport Office Ghaziabad. These applicants have to first take a date to submit the online application. Every day 1300 people are given a date to apply at the Ghaziabad Passport Seva Kendra. Out of these, 300 applicants are given time to submit the form under Tatkal service every day. At the same time, 40 to 50 applicants were given a chance to submit applications every day at the passport service centers set up in the main post office Agra and Vrindavan.

Whereas, the number of applicants was more. The situation was that applicants were sitting after booking appointments for two months. This was causing a lot of problems to people. To solve this problem, the passport department has increased the capacity at POPSKs in four districts including Agra and Vrindavan. Now, 90 passport applications and 10 PCC applications will be accepted daily at four post office passport service centers in Agra, Meerut, Vrindavan and Saharanpur.

Waiting is here since the beginning of the center

Agra has a special significance in terms of tourism. Before the year 2018, people here used to run to Ghaziabad to get their passports made. This caused them a lot of trouble. A passport center was started in Agra in February 2018. Since then, the wait of the applicants has not ended here. The number of applicants kept increasing every day.

People started waiting for two to two and a half months for an appointment. A second passport service center was opened in Achhnera. But the situation still did not come under control. The applicants demanded that the number of slots given daily be increased. Keeping in mind the increasing number of applicants, Fatehpur Sikri MP Rajkumar Chahar has written a letter to the government to open a regional passport office in Agra.

These will be the benefits

– Applicants will get an appointment soon

– Processing time will also be improved

– Increase in applicant satisfaction

– Improvement in overall efficiency of passport service
