Today the Union Cabinet has given a very good news to the farmers. Now the government has approved another scheme for the farmers today. Apart from PM Kisan Scheme, Kisan Credit Card, from now on crores of farmers of the country will also get the benefit of PM-Pranam scheme. Today the Central Government has approved this scheme. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had given information about this scheme while presenting the budget in February.

Which farmers will get benefit?

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved a new scheme ‘PM-Pranaam’ to promote alternative fertilizers and encourage states to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced the implementation of the PM PRANAM (PM Program for Restoration, Awareness, Creation, Nurturing and Improvement of the Earth) scheme in the budget for 2023-24 presented on February 1.

What is the objective of this scheme?

Through this scheme, the government will work to reduce the chemical fertilizer subsidy, which will reduce the use of chemical fertilizers in agriculture. Fertilizers with less chemicals than this will not only improve the quality of the land, but also people will be able to get more healthy food and their lifestyle will also improve. Apart from this, the expenditure of the government will also be less.

Mansukh Mandaviya informed

after the cabinet meeting, Fertilizer Minister Mansukh Mandaviya told reporters that under this scheme, the Center will encourage the states to promote alternative fertilizers and reduce the use of chemical fertilizers.

Citing an example, he said that if a state using 10 lakh tonnes of conventional fertilizers reduces its consumption by three lakh tonnes, then subsidy of Rs 3,000 crore would be saved. Out of this remaining subsidy, 50 percent i.e. Rs 1,500 crore will be given to that state for the use of alternative fertilizers and other development works.

This decision was also taken for the sugarcane farmers.

Apart from this, a big decision has been taken today for the sugarcane farmers across the country. The FRP i.e. Fair and Remunerative Price for sugarcane has been increased to Rs 315 per quintal. It has been implemented for the marketing year 2023-24. Apart from 5 crore sugarcane farmers, 5 lakh workers will also benefit from this decision of the government.
