Rain Alert: Panic due to this evening’s alert, destruction can occur in these districts…

Rain Alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for 11 states including Assam, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Light to moderate rain, thunder, strong winds and lightning are likely in these areas.

According to the IMD forecast, winds can blow at a speed of 50-60 kmph in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, while gusts up to 70 kmph are likely in some areas. Along with this, a dust storm warning has been issued in western Rajasthan.

With the arrival of monsoon across the country, the weather has taken a turn. Heavy rain is being received in many states. The Meteorological Department has warned that heavy rain, lightning and strong winds will continue in many states for the next few days.

The weather will remain bad in North India and North-Eastern states. Many districts of Punjab may receive rain with strong winds this evening. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in states like Punjab, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan between June 4 and 6. IMD has said that heavy rain may occur in Uttarakhand from June 4 to 5 and in Punjab, Haryana from June 4 to 6.

Many places in Punjab received rain last night. After the wind and storm, rain and hailstorm also gave relief to the people from the extreme heat. In Faridkot and Fazilka areas, after the wind and storm, there was rain along with hailstorm. Along with this, there was heavy rain. Meteorologists have predicted strong winds and rain at many places in the state on Wednesday.

Other affected states include Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, West Bengal and Jharkhand, where the weather is likely to worsen in the next 24 to 48 hours. The situation in North-East India remains very serious. 36 people have lost their lives so far due to floods and landslides caused by heavy rains. Assam alone has reported 11 deaths, besides Arunachal Pradesh (10), Meghalaya (6), Mizoram (5), Sikkim (3) and Tripura (1).

The IMD has warned that rains may continue in most parts of the northeast for the next 7 days and very heavy rains are likely at some places on June 4. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the worst-hit Lakhimpur district and assured all possible help to the affected people.
