If you were originally supposed to take your RRB Group D (CEN 08/2024) exam in January, you’ve probably noticed things didn’t exactly go to plan. After a massive reshuffle of the January schedule, the Railway Recruitment Board has finally cleared the air. They’ve locked in a fresh set of dates for February, and honestly, if you haven’t checked the portal lately, you might be in for a surprise.
The Revised Calendar
A few exams actually did happen back on January 8 and 9, but for everyone else, the wait continues until next week. The new window is tight—we’re looking at February 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, and 10, 2026. The board is sticking to the multi-shift format to manage the crowds, so your specific timing could be anytime from early morning to late evening.

Checking Your City Slip
About ten days before your specific test date, a link goes live for your “city intimation.” This isn’t your final hall ticket; it’s just the “where and when” so you can book your travel.

Punch in your application number and password.

Download the slip immediately—don’t wait until the day before.
A Quick Note for SC/ST Applicants
If you applied under a reserved category, your free travel pass should show up on the same portal. It usually activates the moment your city slip is ready. Just remember to carry your original caste certificate when you board the train, or the TTE won’t let it slide.
Don’t Forget the “4-Day” Rule
One thing that always trips people up: your actual Admit Card (e-call letter) won’t be available until four days before your exam. So, if your city slip says you’re testing on February 5th, you won’t be able to get your final hall ticket with the exact center address until February 1st.
