Satellite Internet service: Starlink Satellite Internet service will start soon in India, know everything

0

New Delhi- Big news has come today for the internet users of India. Elon Musk’s company Starlink has got a license from the Indian government and now its super-fast internet service can start in India soon.

Starlink is already available in more than 100 countries and promises to bring high-speed internet to places where normal internet does not work well. Overall, you can understand that now it is like saying goodbye to the lack of internet for those areas where internet service is either slow or not available at all.

Starlink is now one of only three companies in India to have received this crucial telecom license (the other two are OneWeb and Reliance Jio). The company has already received a letter of intent (LoI) from the government’s Department of Telecom. This can be considered an initial green light.

Now, they are waiting for a special license called Global Mobile Personal Communications by Satellite (GMPCS) license. This is the main license they need to install and use their satellite internet equipment in India.

Starlink Speeds:

Starlink users typically see download speeds of 25 to 220 Mbps, with most users enjoying speeds over 100 Mbps.

Starlink price in India:

According to The Economic Times, Starlink is set to launch in India with a very competitive introductory promotional offer: an unlimited data plan priced at $10 per month (roughly Rs. 857). This strategic, entry-level pricing is expected to give SpaceX’s service a powerful edge in gaining initial market share, allowing it to outpace upcoming rivals such as Eutelsat OneWeb (backed by an Indian group), Reliance Jio’s partnership with SES, and Globalstar, all of which are rolling out their own high-speed satellite internet services.
