Sawan 2025: The month of Sawan has started. In this holy month of Sawan, devotees of Lord Shiva go on the Kawad Yatra. Keeping in mind the Kanwar Yatra, many states have decided to keep the schools of their districts closed on the first Monday of Sawan.

Due to the month of Sawan and Kanwar Yatra, a holiday has been declared in schools on Monday, July 14 in many districts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana. During Sawan, crores of devotees travel on foot carrying water from the holy river for Lord Shiva, which increases the crowd and traffic on the roads. For this reason, the administration has taken this decision as a precaution.

For this reason, holidays have been declared on different dates in some districts. At the same time, an order has been issued to keep all government and private schools closed on every Monday of Sawan in Varanasi and Badaun.

Varanasi: In view of the Kanwar Yatra and the huge crowd of devotees in Varanasi during Sawan, the administration has decided to keep all government and private schools closed every Monday. Instructions have been given to keep those schools closed which are located near the Kanwar routes, so that traffic and security system remains in place during the journey and no one faces inconvenience.

Badaun: In Badaun district too, a decision has been taken to declare holiday in schools on every Monday of Sawan so that children and school staff do not face any problem due to the crowd of devotees.

Bareilly: Holiday has been declared in schools in Bareilly on every Monday of Sawan, because on this day devotees reach in large numbers to offer water in major Shiva temples like Saptnath, Guldiya Gaurishankar and Siddh Gopal Baba. The administration has taken this decision keeping in mind the crowd and security arrangements.

Haridwar: Keeping in mind the increasing number of devotees and security arrangements during the Kanwar Yatra in Haridwar, the administration has decided to keep all schools and Anganwadi centers closed from July 14 to 23. This decision has been taken so that there is no problem in the movement of Kanwariyas and school children.

Nuh: A holiday has been ordered in schools in Haryana’s Nuh district on July 14. This decision has been taken in view of the activities of Jalabhishek Yatra and Kanwar Yatra going on in the area, so that the Yatra can be completed peacefully.

Ujjain: A large number of devotees visit Ujjain to visit Lord Mahakal during the month of Sawan. In view of this, the administration has decided to keep all schools closed on every Monday from July 14 to August 11, so that students and school staff do not face any problems amid the crowd and traffic.
