Air taxis will start in some cities

In the first phase, the air taxi service will be started in Delhi, and after that it will be expanded to major metros like Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai. Through these services, passengers will get state-of-the-art air transport facility, which will help in covering the distance between cities in less time. This service will be an important step towards reducing the pressure of urban traffic and making the travel experience fast and convenient.

Know how much will be the fare and speed?

According to media reports, under the air taxi service, the journey from Connaught Place in New Delhi to Gurugram can be done in just 7 minutes. This service will be provided through Archer Aviation’s 200 electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. Initially, a total of five people including the pilot will be able to travel in it. InterGlobe Aviation and Archer Aviation intend to start their services in Mumbai and Bengaluru along with New Delhi. The fare of the service can be between Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000.

DGCA issues guidelines for construction of vertiports

The DGCA has approved guidelines for the construction of vertiports, which is a major step for air taxi services. Vertiports are specially designed for vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) and are small airports that are required to operate air taxi services.

The new guidelines cover the following points:

• Charging stations: Vertiports will have suitable charging stations for electric air taxis.
• Parking facilities: Dedicated space and facilities will be ensured for parking of aircraft.
• Emergency services: Medical and other security services will be made available for emergencies.
• Operational aspects: Vertiports will be designed in such a way that the travel experience is safe and comfortable.
• The implementation of these guidelines will improve the quality and safety standards of vertiports, making the operation of air taxi services more convenient and efficient.

MoU signed

An MOU was signed between the two companies on Thursday. InterGlobe Group MD Rahul Bhatia and Archer Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Nikhil Goyal were present on the occasion. In this, a decision was taken to bring air taxi in India. Now both the companies will seek approval from the government to start air taxi service.

The country’s largest airline, Indigo, is a part of InterGlobe Enterprises. At the same time, Archer is seen as a company that rents electric vehicles and aircraft.

Where will electric aircraft be used?

Apart from providing air taxi service in metro cities, both the companies also want to use these electric aircraft in cargo, logistics, medical and emergency services. Besides, private companies will also be able to take them on rent. Along with training the pilots and employees, work will also be done to develop infrastructure for this service in India.

Four people will be able to travel

200 Archer Midnight aircraft will be purchased for this service. Four passengers will be able to travel together in these planes. These aircraft have been designed to make short frequent trips. They also charge fast.

Rahul Bhatia said that for two decades the company has provided safe and affordable transport options to Indian passengers. Now we are very happy to introduce this electric aircraft.
