Air Taxi: Soon you will be able to see taxis flying in the air in India. InterGlobe Enterprises and Archer Aviation have joined hands to bring this service to India.

Both companies want to start this service in India by 2026. After the arrival of air taxi service in India, you will be able to travel from Connaught Place in Delhi to Gurgaon in just seven minutes. Currently, it takes 60 to 90 minutes to travel this 27 kilometer distance by road.

MoU signed

An MOU was signed between the two companies on Thursday. InterGlobe Group MD Rahul Bhatia and Archer Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Nikhil Goyal were present on the occasion. In this, a decision was taken to bring air taxi in India. Now both the companies will seek approval from the government to start air taxi service.

The country’s largest airline, Indigo, is a part of InterGlobe Enterprises. At the same time, Archer is seen as a company that rents electric vehicles and aircraft.

Where will electric aircraft be used?

Apart from providing air taxi service in metro cities, both the companies also want to use these electric aircraft in cargo, logistics, medical and emergency services. Besides, private companies will also be able to take them on rent. Along with training the pilots and employees, work will also be done to develop infrastructure for this service in India.

Four people will be able to travel

200 Archer Midnight aircraft will be purchased for this service. Four passengers will be able to travel together in these planes. These aircraft have been designed to make short frequent trips. They also charge fast.

There will be a solution to the traffic problem in big cities

Rahul Bhatia said that for two decades the company has provided safe and affordable transport options to Indian passengers. Now we are very happy to introduce this electric aircraft. On the other hand, Nikhil Goyal said that many cities of India with a population of 1.4 crores are facing severe traffic problems. We are providing solution to this problem through air taxi
