HDFC Bank is maintaining its UPI service. From the night of July 3, 2025 to the night of July 4, 2025, UPI services will be temporarily closed. Related apps like PhonePe, Google Pay and Paytm will also be affected.

If you do not keep cash in your pocket and are relaxed due to UPI service, then this news is for you. Actually HDFC Bank has alerted its customers that it is going to do an extremely important system maintenance. Due to this, UPI service will be closed for a few hours. In such a situation, it may be wise to carry cash with you on that day. Let us tell you that since the arrival of UPI service, people have reduced carrying cash with them. The government also wants that people do as many transactions as possible digitally. However, every system needs maintenance at some point of time and in such a situation people may face problems.

When will UPI be down?

According to the information released by HDFC Bank, it will keep its UPI service closed from 11:45 pm on 3 July 2025 to 1:15 pm on 4 July 2025. During this time people will not be able to use UPI service for 90 minutes. The bank has chosen this time thoughtfully because during this time the load on the UPI server is less. However, people definitely make UPI payments during this time.

The effect will be visible on all UPI apps

Let us tell you that this down will not only affect HDFC’s own mobile banking app, but other UPI apps like PhonePe, WhatsApp Pay, Google Pay and Paytm will also not be able to work during this downtime. Let us tell you here that this will only affect those people whose UPI account is linked to HDFC Bank. The customers of that bank will neither be able to make payments through UPI nor receive money at the time specified by the bank. Apart from this, non-financial work related to UPI such as checking balance or changing UPI PIN will also not be possible during this time. HDFC’s RuPay credit card UPI service will also be closed at this time!

Businesses will also be affected

Let us tell you that the bank has clarified that the services of those businesses whose payment services are through HDFC Bank will also stop at this time. During this time, businesses will neither be able to receive nor make any kind of payment. Keep in mind that during this time other services used for transactions such as net banking, ATM, debit and credit cards will continue to run normally.

Diwali bank holidays 2023: Banks will remain closed across India on November 10 during the five-day festival of Diwali, starting with Dhanteras and ending with Bhai Dooj on November 15.

This year the festival of Diwali will be celebrated across the country on Sunday, 12th November. Dhanteras, the first day of the festival, is the day when Hindus worship Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity. It is considered auspicious to buy precious metals like gold and silver and utensils.

It is believed that they bring good luck. Banks will also remain closed during this period. Here we are telling you when the banks will remain closed during the week of Diwali.

Diwali Bank Holiday 2023

10 November (Friday): Wangala Festival – Meghalaya.

11 November (2nd Saturday) – Chhoti Diwali

12 November (Sunday) – Diwali

November 13 (Monday): Govardhan Puja – Tripura, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Manipur, Rajasthan, UP and Maharashtra.

November 14 (Tuesday): Diwali – Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Sikkim.

November 15, 2023 (Wednesday): Bhaidooj – Sikkim, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, Bengal and Himachal Pradesh.

Complete list of holidays in November 2023

20 November (Monday) – Chhath (Morning Arghya). Banks will remain closed in Bihar and Rajasthan.

23 November (Tuesday) – Seng Kutsnem/Egas-Bagwal. Banks will remain closed in Uttarakhand and Sikkim.

27 November (Monday)- Guru Nanak Jayanti/Kartik Purnima/Rahas Purnima. Banks are closed in Tripura, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Hyderabad – Telangana, Rajasthan, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, Bengal, Maharashtra, New Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh.

30 November (Thursday) – Kanakdas Jayanti. Banks will remain closed in Karnataka.

Banks are not closed simultaneously in every state

The Reserve Bank of India releases the list of bank holidays every calendar year. Here it is important for you to know that banks in the entire country are not closed. Many of the holidays in the holiday list released by RBI are of national level. And some are of local level. In such a situation, it is not necessary that on the day banks are closed in Punjab, there should be no functioning of banks in Maharashtra also.

The post Bank Customers Alert!

Reserve Bank of India: If your bank account is in a co-operative bank, then you must read this news. Banks have been facing strict action from the Reserve Bank (RBI) for the last few years.

The effect of this is that the RBI even canceled the licenses of some banks. Not only this, the central bank has also imposed heavy fines on some big banks. Co-operative banks are facing the maximum loss in the Reserve Bank’s action.

Reserve Bank also imposed penalty 114 times

The licenses of eight co-operative banks have been canceled by the RBI in the financial year 2022-23 ending on March 31. Reserve Bank has also imposed penalty 114 times on these banks for not following the rules. Let us tell you that banking service has expanded rapidly in rural areas through co-operative banks. But due to the irregularities coming to the fore in these banks, RBI had to take drastic steps.

Allegations of negligence in rules

Co-operative banks are facing interference from local leaders apart from dual regulation and weak finance. The Reserve Bank has started cracking down on co-operative banks, which are negligent in the rules. Permits of eight banks have been canceled in the last one year. Let us know which banks’ permits were canceled by RBI?

Licenses of these banks were canceled

1. Mudhol Co-operative Bank
2. Milath Co-Operative Bank
3. Shree Anand Co-Operative Bank
4. Rupee Co-operative Bank
5. Deccan Urban Co-operative Bank
6. Laxmi Co-operative Bank
7. Sewa Vikas Co-operative Bank
8. Babaji Date Mahila Urban Bank

The licenses of the banks mentioned above by the RBI were done due to insufficient capital, non-compliance with the rules of the Banking Regulation Act. Also canceled due to reasons like lack of future income possibilities. Co-operative banking sector is being monitored by RBI for the last several years. The central bank has canceled the licenses of 12 co-operative banks in the year 2021-22, 3 co-operative banks in 2020-21 and two co-operative banks in 2019-20.

Punjab National Bank: If your account is also in Punjab National Bank (PNB), then this news is for you. If you pay by cheque, then you will not be cheated. Yes, PNB has implemented a new system of cheque payment to save crores of customers of the bank from fraud.

Now Positive Pay System (PPS) has been made mandatory for customers to make cheque payments of Rs 5 lakh or more. This change will come into effect from April 5 next month.

It is necessary to give details of cheque in PPS

Public sector bank has taken this step to save customers from any fake payment through cheque. In a statement from PNB, it was said that this decision will come into effect from April 5, 2023. Earlier, it was necessary to give the details of the cheque in the Positive Pay System (PPS) for payment of cheque of Rs 10 lakh and above. The statement said that PPS is a system developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). Under this, customers have to confirm the necessary details while issuing chequs of a certain amount.

Additional security to avoid risk

These details include account number, cheque number, cheque alpha code, date of issue, amount and beneficiary name. This provides additional security to avoid any risk while making payment of large amount of cheques. The bank said that customers can avail this facility by giving cheque details through branch office, online banking, mobile banking or SMS banking.

Availing the facility at the option of the account holder

As per RBI guidelines, PNB had earlier introduced PPS for cheque of Rs 50,000 and above presented in CTS clearing from January 1, 2021. It was also said on behalf of RBI that it is at the discretion of the account holder to take advantage of this facility. Banks may consider making it mandatory for cheque of Rs 5 lakh and above.

What is Positive Pay System

PPS is a system developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). Under this, customers are required to reconfirm necessary details such as account number, cheque number, cheque alpha code, date of issue, amount and beneficiary name etc. while issuing a cheque of a certain amount. In this, the customer has to provide all these details to the bank.

The post Cheque transaction Rules Change!

Bank employees are going to get good news. His week off is about to increase. That means now they will have to work less days in a week. However, their working hours will be extended.

It is being claimed in the media reports that the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) is going to consider the demands of bank unions for holidays and working days in a week. If this rule is accepted then the bank employees will get great relief.

Work burden on bank employees

In fact, the issue of work burden on bank employees is repeatedly raised by bank unions. In view of this, they are demanding work for 5 days a week. According to media reports, IBA is considering the model of bank employees working 5 days a week and two days off.

Right now there are six weeks off in a month. It is being said that if this is implemented, the employees will get Saturday and Sunday off, while their working hours will increase by 5 days. They will have to work 40 minutes more everyday. According to media reports, after the new model is implemented, bank employees may have to work from 9.45 am to 5.30 am.

Let us tell you that now the employees get 6 days of week off in a month, while after the new model is implemented, they will get 8 days of week off. At present, apart from four Sundays in the bank, there is a holiday on the second and fourth Saturdays. This also creates a bit of confusion among the customers.

Two week offs are also being given by LIC

Tell that the government insurance company LIC is also giving two days week off to its employees. Before listing last year, LIC had implemented a model of working 5 days a week. After this the bank unions intensified their demands in this regard.

Bank Holiday: Today, on February 20, all banks will remain closed in the state of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram. Today is the foundation day of both the states due to which banks will remain closed.

Although online service and net banking will work, all bank branches will remain closed. People of these two states are advised not to go to the bank today and do the settlement work by going to their bank.

Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal Pradesh is a state in the extreme north east of the country, formerly known as the North-East Frontier Agency (NEFA) and renamed the state of Assam after independence. However, NEFA became a Union Territory in 1972, with a significant portion being renamed Arunachal Pradesh. Arunachal Pradesh was established as a full-fledged state on 20 February 1987.

It became the 25th state of the Indian Union. This state is known for its terrain, soil, flora and fauna. To this day there is hardly any big city of the towns here. Arunachal Pradesh has the lowest population density of any state in India, with the majority of its population living near its valleys. The capital city Itanagar is home to the Legislative Assembly.

February 20, 2023 – Monday – State Day – Banks will remain closed in Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram.

Mizoram

In contrast, the state of Mizoram had to face violence and insurgency to get statehood. Separatist groups sought independence from India in the 1960s and the Mizo National Front (MNF) insurgency to achieve this goal. The Indian government responded with bombings of parts of the state.

Finally in 1986 the Mizoram Peace Accord was signed between India and the MNF. After the accord, Mizoram was given statehood on 20 February 1987. It became the 23rd state of the Indian Union. More than three-fourth of the state is covered with forests. It is home to valuable timber trees. Almost the entire population of the state belongs to the Scheduled Tribes, who are commonly referred to as Mizos. Aizawl is the capital of Mizoram.

Bank Strike: The proposed bank strike to be held on 30 and 31 January has been postponed. In the conciliation meeting of Bank Unions held before this strike, it has been decided to postpone this meeting.

In fact, the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has postponed the two-day nationwide bank strike to be held on January 30-31 following the consensus reached in the conciliation meeting held in Mumbai.

Why was the countrywide bank strike postponed

All India General Secretary of Bank Employees’ Association (AIBEA) CH Venkatachalam has informed that the bank unions will first discuss their demands on January 31. According to Venkatachalam, the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) has agreed to hold a meeting with the unions on January 31.

In the conciliation meeting held on Friday, it was decided that three common issues of five-day banking, updation of pension and restoration of old pension scheme would be discussed on January 31. Other issues will be discussed separately with the concerned authorities and labor unions.

Who had decided to go on strike

Significantly, the UFBU, a group of several bank unions, had earlier decided to go on strike for their various demands. According to him, these demands are being put before the ministry for a long time and no decision has been taken on them.

Bank unions have many demands – know about some

Bank unions have several demands including 5-day banking working culture, upgradation of pension, residual issues, scrapping of National Pension System (NPS), immediate commencement of negotiations on charter of demands for wage revision and adequate recruitment in all cadres. The decision to call the strike was taken by the UFBU.

Banking Customers Alert: 17 banks including State Bank of India have issued alerts to their customers to avoid falling prey to the virus. Let us tell you that there is a big danger on the details of the customers of the banks.

What is Drinik Android Recently a new version of Drinik Android has been spotted. This version is said to be many times more dangerous than its older versions. Its target includes 17 different banks of the country including SBI. It very easily steals the customer’s banking details as well as their personal data. It is known that Drinik is an old malware, which came to the fore in 2016.

Let us tell you that the Government of India had already issued a warning to Android users about this malware, which was stealing many information of users in the name of generating income tax refund . Drinik is an advanced version of malware that is targeting users by sending an SMS with the APK file. This includes an app called iAssist, which takes the form of India’s official tax management tool for Income Tax.

According to a report targeting customers , the latest version of this virus comes with an APK named iAssist. Takes the form of Income Tax’s Official Tax Management Tool of Income Tax of India. Once installed on the device, the APK file asks for permissions to read, receive and send SMS, apart from reading the call logs of the users. It also requests permission to read and write external storage. Once a user gives permission, the app gives users a chance to do something without being told.

If it steals your PIN

, before showing the login page to the victim, the malware will display an authentication screen for biometric verification. When the victim enters a PIN, the malware steals the biometric PIN and also captures keystrokes by recording the screen using media projection. The stolen details are then sent to the C&C server.
