Banking Customers Alert: 17 banks including State Bank of India have issued alerts to their customers to avoid falling prey to the virus. Let us tell you that there is a big danger on the details of the customers of the banks.

What is Drinik Android Recently a new version of Drinik Android has been spotted. This version is said to be many times more dangerous than its older versions. Its target includes 17 different banks of the country including SBI. It very easily steals the customer’s banking details as well as their personal data. It is known that Drinik is an old malware, which came to the fore in 2016.

Let us tell you that the Government of India had already issued a warning to Android users about this malware, which was stealing many information of users in the name of generating income tax refund . Drinik is an advanced version of malware that is targeting users by sending an SMS with the APK file. This includes an app called iAssist, which takes the form of India’s official tax management tool for Income Tax.

According to a report targeting customers , the latest version of this virus comes with an APK named iAssist. Takes the form of Income Tax’s Official Tax Management Tool of Income Tax of India. Once installed on the device, the APK file asks for permissions to read, receive and send SMS, apart from reading the call logs of the users. It also requests permission to read and write external storage. Once a user gives permission, the app gives users a chance to do something without being told.

If it steals your PIN

, before showing the login page to the victim, the malware will display an authentication screen for biometric verification. When the victim enters a PIN, the malware steals the biometric PIN and also captures keystrokes by recording the screen using media projection. The stolen details are then sent to the C&C server.
