<p>If you are going to the bank branch today, then first check the list of holidays. This will save you from inconvenience. When we checked the list of bank holidays on the RBI website, we found that today banks will remain closed in many cities due to Buddha Purnima.</p>
<h3><strong>Banks will remain closed in these cities</strong></h3>
<p>Today, Monday, May 12, banks will remain closed in Agartala, Aizawl, Belapur, Bhopal, Dehradun, Itanagar, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla and Srinagar due to Buddha Purnima. However, mobile banking and net banking services will remain operational.</p>
<h3><strong>Banks are closed on these dates in May</strong></h3>
<p>May 1: Banks will be closed in Bengaluru, Chennai, Guwahati, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Imphal, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, Patna and Thiruvananthapuram on the occasion of Labour Day/Maharashtra Day.</p>
<p>May 9: Banks in Kolkata remained closed on May 9 on the occasion of Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti.</p>
<p>May 12: Banks will be closed in Agartala, Aizawl, Belapur, Bhopal, Dehradun, Itanagar, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla and Srinagar on May 12 due to Buddha Purnima.</p>
<p>May 16: Banks in Gangtok will remain closed on Friday on the occasion of State Day.</p>
<p>May 26: Banks in Agartala will remain closed on Monday to mark the birthday of Kazi Nazrul Islam.</p>
<p>May 29: Banks will remain closed in Shimla on May 29 on the occasion of Maharana Pratap Jayanti.</p>

All public and private sector banks are going to remain closed on 8 November. On the occasion of Chhath Puja, banks are going to remain closed on Friday in many states.</strong></h3>
<p>In such a situation, customers will have to complete their work keeping in mind the bank holiday. Here is the list of those states where banks will remain closed on Thursday. Check why RBI has given a holiday.</p>
<h3><strong>Banks will remain closed on Friday 8 November</strong></h3>
<p>Banks will remain closed in many states of the country on Friday due to Chhath Puja. Chhath Puja is an important festival of the people of North India, especially Bihar, Jharkhand and Purvanchal, in which the Sun God is worshiped. On this occasion, bank holidays have been kept in states like Bihar, Jharkhand, Delhi and West Bengal so that people can participate in the Puja with their families. However, despite the banks being closed, people will be able to do financial transactions through internet banking, mobile banking and ATMs.</p>
<h3><strong>Wangala Festival will be held in Meghalaya on 8 November</strong></h3>
<p>Wangala Festival is an important cultural and religious festival of the Garo tribals of Meghalaya. It is also known as the 100 Drums Festival and is celebrated to express gratitude to Lord Saljong (Sun God) after the harvest. Wangala Festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm and pomp in the month of November and the traditional dance, song and drumming of the Garo community are the attractions of this festival.</p>
<h3><strong>Banks will remain closed on Thursday in these states of the country</strong></h3>
<p>November 7 (Thursday): Chhath Puja Sandhya Arghya – Banks closed in Bihar, Delhi, Jharkhand and West Bengal.</p>
<p>Rest of the holidays in November</p>
<p>November 8 (Friday): Chhath Puja Morning Arghya and Wangala Festival – Banks closed in Bihar, Jharkhand and Meghalaya.</p>
<p>9 November (Saturday) : Second Saturday – All banks closed across the country as per RBI rules.</p>
<p>November 10 (Sunday): Banks will remain closed across the country</p>
<p>November 15 (Friday): Guru Nanak Jayanti/Kartik Purnima – Banks closed in Mizoram, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and other states.</p>
<p>November 17 (Sunday): Holiday.</p>
<p>November 18 (Monday): Banks closed in Karnataka for Kanakadasa Jayanti.</p>
<p>November 23 (Saturday) : Fourth Saturday and Senkut Snei Festival in Meghalaya.</p>
<p>November 24 (Sunday): Banks closed across the country.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h3><strong>New Delhi: The festive season has begun in the country. Some banks will remain closed for six consecutive days from Friday. These banks will remain closed from September 13 to September 18.</strong></h3>
<p>However, banks will not remain closed for 6 consecutive days across the country. Banks are closed on different days in different states due to festivals. But it is wise to go to the branch only after looking at the list of holidays. All government and private banks will remain closed for at least 15 days in September. These include the second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays. However, now there is no need to go to the bank. You can do most of the work sitting at home through online websites and mobile banking services apps.</p>
<p>Banks will remain closed in Rajasthan on September 13 due to Ramdev Jayanti and Teja Dashami. The next day being the second Saturday, banks will remain closed across the country while September 15 is Sunday. Banks will remain closed across the country on September 16 due to Eid-e-Milad.</p>

September 22 is Sunday while banks will remain closed in Haryana on September 23 due to Veer Shahidi Diwas.</p>
