These changes will have a direct impact on your everyday banking expenses. From withdrawing money from ATM to debit card and demand draft, now more charges will have to be paid on many services. The bank says that these changes are being made to maintain the increasing operational costs, continuity of competitive services and transparency. Rules changed on ATM transactions

– Now ICICI Bank customers will be able to do only 5 free ATM transactions every month. After this:

– ₹ 23 per transaction on financial transactions

– ₹ 8.50 per transaction on non-financial transactions (like balance check)

At other bank ATMs:

– 3 free transactions in metro cities and 5 free transactions in non-metros. After this, the same charges will apply (earlier the financial transaction charge was ₹ 21).

Changes in cash deposit and withdrawal charges

– 3 cash deposits free every month

– ₹2 charge per ₹1,000 thereafter, – Withdrawals will also be charged after 3 transactions with

a minimum of ₹50 and a maximum of ₹15,000 . Earlier there was a flat charge of ₹50 up to Rs 10,000 and thereafter ₹5 was charged per ₹1,000.

Fees on demand draft and pay order increased

– Now ₹2 charge per ₹1,000

– Minimum ₹50 and maximum ₹15,000

– These charges will also apply to making DD by cheque or transfer from account

New charges on IMPS transactions

– Transferring money through IMPS (Immediate Payment Service) will now attract charges as per the new slab. The bank has implemented slab based charging. (Full details are available on the bank’s website or mobile app)

Increase in fees related to debit card

– Annual fee of debit card has increased from ₹200 to ₹300

– Now ₹300 will have to be paid even if you get a damaged or lost card again

Why have the charges been increased?

ICICI Bank says that changes in these charges are necessary to provide better digital experience to customers, maintain quality of service and deal with rising costs. The bank claims that these changes will also increase transparency.

According to the bank, banking services will be temporarily closed on January 24 and 25 due to maintenance. This move will help provide a better banking experience to customers. Even before this, HDFC Bank had closed some services on January 17 and 18 due to maintenance.

HDFC Bank has announced that ChatBanking, SMS Banking and PhoneBanking IVR services will be under maintenance from 10:00 PM on January 24 to 2:00 PM on January 25 (total 16 hours). During this period, all these services will not be available to customers. UPI service will not be available on January 25. UPI service will be maintained on Friday. Services will be affected from 12:00 AM on January 25 to 3:00 AM (3 hours).

During this period, UPI transactions on HDFC Bank current and savings accounts, RuPay credit cards, HDFC mobile banking app and UPI services on TPAPs (Third Party Apps) will remain closed. Merchant UPI transactions will also be affected.

The bank has alerted its customers: HDFC Bank has sent this update to the customers through their registered email addresses. The bank has requested its customers to use other options during these dates and times. HDFC Bank says that this necessary maintenance is being done to further improve their service. However, customers are advised to make their financial plans keeping these dates in mind. Earlier on January 17 also, some customers did not get banking services. Then, customers faced problems in reloading Forex card through Forex prepaid card service, prepaid card netbanking and instant reload portal.

“The proposed strike is to show our protest against the action of the Bank of India to file a chargesheet against all 13 office bearers of the Bank of India Staff Union-Kerala under political pressure,” AIBEA General Secretary C. H. Venkatachalam told a news agency.

Tribute was paid to Pervez Musharraf

The bank union had distributed a draft report of its activities to its members for comments and suggestions. HDFC Bank said that some services will not be available during the system upgrade on Saturday, July 13. When will HDFC Bank service not be available

13 July 2024 from 3:00 am to 4:30 pm IST. That is, customers will not get bank service for about 13 hours. The bank is asking customers to settle bank related and money transfer in advance. According to HDFC Bank’s email, to minimize the inconvenience, we have decided to do this upgrade on the second Saturday bank holiday. Banking services will remain affected for 4 days

Bank union has announced bank strike on 30 and 31 January. Along with this, January 28 is the fourth Saturday, due to which banks will remain closed. On the other hand, on January 29, due to Sunday, banks will be closed, so you can finish your important work on Friday or else you can finish your work on February 1.

Why is the strike happening?

United Forum of Bank Union (UFBU) meeting was held in Mumbai in which bank unions have decided to go on strike for two days. Bank unions are going on strike to pressurize the government to meet their demands.

There is a demand to increase the salary, along with this there is a demand of the employees that NPS should be abolished and talks should be held to increase the salary. Apart from all this, there has been a demand to start the recruitment process in all the cadres. The union has decided to go on strike regarding all these demands.

But there is another category above senior citizens for banks, which is called super senior citizens. Persons above the age of 60 years are called senior citizens and those above the age of 80 years are known as very senior citizens. These four banks offer high interest rates on Fixed Deposit (FD) to their very senior citizens.

Punjab National Bank

According to the Punjab National Bank (PNB) website, the bank offers an additional interest rate of 80 basis points over and above the applicable interest rate across all categories to very senior citizens above the age of 80 years. PNB’s Super Senior customers get a maximum interest rate of 8.10% for a tenure of 666 days.

This rate has come into effect from 12 December 2022. Explain that the bank has increased the interest rates by 50 basis points for senior citizens in the age group of 60 to 80 years for a period of 5 years on domestic deposits of less than Rs 2 crore. Whereas for citizens above 80 years of age, there has been an increase of 80 basis points.

RBL Bank

RBL bank offers a higher interest rate of 0.75% p.a. for all tenures to citizens aged 80 years and above. The bank currently offers 8.3% interest to very senior citizens. These rates were implemented from 25 November 2022 . On the other hand senior citizens in the age group of 60 to 80 years can avail an additional interest rate of 0.50% per annum over normal.

Indian Bank

Indian Bank offers an interest rate of 0.25% above normal to its very senior citizens. Indian Bank offers an interest rate of 7.15 per cent for a tenure of 555 days, which is .25% higher than normal.

Union Bank of India

Union Bank of India offers its very senior citizens an interest rate of 0.75% per annum above normal for all tenures on FDs. Explain that these interest rates have come into effect from 25 November 2022. The bank offers the highest interest rate of 8.05% to its very senior citizens for a tenure of 800 days and 3 years. At the same time, the bank gives an annual interest rate of 6.80% to senior citizens in the age group of 60 to 80 years.
