DA Hike in Rajasthan: After Bihar, the Rajasthan government has also given a big gift to its employees and pensioners before Diwali. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has announced a 3% increase in dearness allowance.

How much has the DA increased in Rajasthan?

The state government has decided to give employees and pensioners 58% dearness allowance under the Seventh Pay Commission, instead of 55%, effective July 1, 2025. The Chief Minister approved the Finance Department’s proposal on Friday. This decision will benefit approximately 800,000 employees and 440,000 pensioners.

Panchayat and Zila Parishad employees also included

Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad employees will also benefit from this increase. The increased DA will be paid in cash with the October 2025 salary, while the amount for the months of July to September will be deposited into the General Provident Fund account. Pensioners will receive cash payments starting in July.

How much will it cost the government?

This decision will impose a financial burden of approximately ₹1,230 crore annually on the state government. However, the government has described it as a sensitive decision taken in the interest of employees and pensioners.

Inspired by the Central Government’s Decision

This decision comes at a time when the Central Government also increased the DA for its employees on Wednesday. Following this, the Rajasthan government also directed the implementation of the proposal at the state level without delay. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma immediately approved the Finance Department’s proposal on Friday, providing relief to millions of state employees and pensioners before Diwali.

The Bihar Government Also Made a Major Decision

On Friday, the Bihar Cabinet, chaired by Nitish Kumar, announced a 3% increase in the DA for state employees. Now, the DA in Bihar has also increased from 55% to 58%.

Central Govt Employees DA Hike: Dearness allowance was increased by 4 percent under the Seventh Pay Commission on behalf of the Central Government. After this hike, the DA of central employees has increased from 34% to 38%. Under the 7th Pay Commission, now a separate DA will be increased in January 2023. Apart from this, the central government has also given Diwali gift to the employees who are getting salary under the fifth and sixth pay commissions. The government has increased the DA under both these pay commissions.

An increase of 9 percent has been done by the
government under the Sixth Pay Commission, the dearness allowance has been increased by 9 percent. After this change, dearness allowance has increased from 203 percent to 212 percent. The new rates of DA will be effective from July 1, 2022. Three months arrears will be given to the employees along with the October salary.

DA increased to 396 percent
Apart from this, under the Fifth Pay Commission, the DA of central employees has been increased by 15 percent. Earlier, there was a provision to get 381 percent DA for the employees working under the Fifth Pay Commission. But now it has been increased to 396 percent. The increase in dearness allowance for these employees will also be applicable from July 1.

Let us tell you that dearness allowance is calculated on the basis of basic salary of the employee. If the basic salary of an employee is Rs 43000 per month, then he would be getting Rs 87,290 as per the old DA (203%). But after the DA is 212 percent, now it will increase to Rs 91,160. The salary will increase by about Rs 3800 on a monthly basis.
