7th Pay Commission: Government increased 15% DA for central employees; will get fat arrears

DA Hike: The next DA under the Seventh Pay Commission will be increased in January 2023. Apart from this, the central government has also given Diwali gift to the employees who are getting salary under the fifth and sixth pay commissions.

Central Govt Employees DA Hike: Dearness allowance was increased by 4 percent under the Seventh Pay Commission on behalf of the Central Government. After this hike, the DA of central employees has increased from 34% to 38%. Under the 7th Pay Commission, now a separate DA will be increased in January 2023. Apart from this, the central government has also given Diwali gift to the employees who are getting salary under the fifth and sixth pay commissions. The government has increased the DA under both these pay commissions.

An increase of 9 percent has been done by the
government under the Sixth Pay Commission, the dearness allowance has been increased by 9 percent. After this change, dearness allowance has increased from 203 percent to 212 percent. The new rates of DA will be effective from July 1, 2022. Three months arrears will be given to the employees along with the October salary.

DA increased to 396 percent
Apart from this, under the Fifth Pay Commission, the DA of central employees has been increased by 15 percent. Earlier, there was a provision to get 381 percent DA for the employees working under the Fifth Pay Commission. But now it has been increased to 396 percent. The increase in dearness allowance for these employees will also be applicable from July 1.

Let us tell you that dearness allowance is calculated on the basis of basic salary of the employee. If the basic salary of an employee is Rs 43000 per month, then he would be getting Rs 87,290 as per the old DA (203%). But after the DA is 212 percent, now it will increase to Rs 91,160. The salary will increase by about Rs 3800 on a monthly basis.
