Action against smoking and inflammable items

Railways has made a provision of fine for carrying inflammable items and smoking in order to prevent incidents of fire in the train. This is a punishable offense under Section 164 of the Railway Act. Under this, the offender can be fined Rs 1000 and jailed for 3 years or both. These instructions have been issued not only for passengers but also for railway employees. The Ministry of Railways had issued a statement saying that security is the center of railway operations and there cannot be any laxity in it.

Some other rules of railway

Indian Railways has made many rules for the convenience of its passengers. One of these rules is that TC cannot wake you up to check tickets from 10 pm to 6 am. However, if you have caught the train only after 10 pm, then you will have to show the ticket.
