However, these limits will be relaxed when announcing bonuses and incentives for the financial year 2024-25.

Eligible employees working in profit-making state government public sector enterprises (PSUs) will receive an 8.33% bonus and an 11.67% ex gratia. These enterprises include the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation, the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, and the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation.

The notification states that eligible employees of enterprises that do not have surpluses will receive an 8.33 percent bonus and 1.67 percent ex-gratia. These include the Tamil Nadu Housing Board and the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board. Additionally, eligible employees of the Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board will receive an 8.33 percent bonus, while temporary employees of the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation will receive an ex-gratia of ₹3,000.

According to the state government’s notification, a total of ₹376.01 crore will be distributed among 269,439 employees in the form of bonuses and ex-gratia. The ad hoc bonus will be calculated on the basis of maximum emoluments of Rs 7000 and a month of 31 days. This bonus will be payable for a period of 30 days, under which the eligible employee will be paid a maximum ad hoc bonus of Rs 6774. Out of this, 75 percent amount will be deposited in cash and 25 percent amount will be deposited in the General Provident Fund account of the employee.

Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad employees will also benefit

Bonus will be payable to Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad employees as well. Leaves will be counted while deciding the eligibility period. Leaves taken by the employee other than extra ordinary leave will be counted. Extra ordinary leave or leave without pay will be calculated by excluding it from the eligibility period. But for ad hoc bonus, it will not be counted in the service break. If the employee is on leave on 31.3.2024, then the eligibility for bonus will be checked on the basis of the last salary taken by him before the leave.

This condition was also kept, they will not get bonus

. The subsistence allowance given during suspension will not be counted in emoluments. Such suspended employee will be eligible for bonus only if he is reinstated with the start of full emoluments payable during the suspension period. If the employee is suspended on 31.3.2024, he will not get bonus. If he is reinstated later, then he will be eligible for bonus on being eligible for full salary of the suspension period. The eligibility for bonus will be determined for the reappointed employee. His reappointment will be determined on the basis of how much service he has rendered in 2023-24. Employees who resign on or before 31 March 2024 will not be eligible for bonus.

In this, according to the calculation, 7000 * 30 / 30.4 = Rs 6907.89 (Rs 6908) will be made. The benefit of such bonus will be available only to those Central Government employees who have been in service on 31 March 2021. During the year 2020-21, continuous duty has been given for at least six months. Temporary employees appointed on adhoc basis will also get this bonus. However, there should be no break in service in the meantime.

These employees will also get bonus

Such employees who have been out of service, have resigned or have retired on or before 31 March 2022, will be treated as a special case. Under this, those employees who have retired or died illegally on medical grounds before March 31, but have done regular duty for six months in a financial year, will be considered eligible for ad-hoc bonus.

Bonus will be fixed on ‘Pro Rata Basis’ based on the nearest number of regular service of the concerned employee. In such a case, it becomes the responsibility of the borrowing organization to provide adhoc bonus, PLB, exgracia and incentive schemes etc.,

provided such provisions are in force. If an employee is in the grade of ‘C’ or above and is withdrawn from foreign service midway during the financial year, then the rule of adhoc bonus has been made in this regard.

Under this, if the parent department of that employee has received bonus and exgratia amount from the foreign department in the financial year, then that amount will be given to the employee concerned. Even after reverting, if the bonus is due from the central government of the worker, in such a situation, the central government can ban his adhoc bonus.
