Now talking about their record levels, a day before Dhanteras, i.e. on October 17, 2025, 24-carat gold was available at a record price of ₹1,32,770 per ten grams and 22-carat gold at a record price of ₹1,21,700. Silver, on the other hand, reached a price of ₹1.90 lakh per kg on October 15, 2025.

Silver prices fall for the second consecutive day after three days of stability.

Silver prices in Delhi have fallen by ₹4,100 per kg in two consecutive days. Prior to this, its price remained stable for three consecutive days. Gold Silver Rate Today on 16 October: Gold and silver prices hit new record highs on Thursday, ahead of Dhanteras. This surge was driven by positive global cues, strong domestic demand, and a weak dollar. Gold with December expiry date rose by ₹1,200, or 1 percent, to reach an all-time high of ₹1,28,395 per 10 grams on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). Silver with December expiry date also rose by ₹1,900, or 1 percent, to reach ₹1,64,150 per kg on the MCX.

Gold Rate in Delhi: Gold and silver prices are witnessing a steady rise due to heavy demand from retailers and jewelry sellers ahead of Dhanteras and Diwali. On Tuesday, gold crossed the ₹130,000 mark per 10 grams in the bullion market in the national capital, Delhi.

Latest Prices of 24 and 22 Carat Gold
According to the All India Sarafa Association, the price of 99.9 percent pure gold rose by ₹2,850 to a record high of ₹1,30,800 per 10 grams (including all taxes), compared to its previous closing price of ₹1,27,950. Gold of 99.5 percent purity also rose by ₹2,850 to a new record high of ₹1,30,200 per 10 grams (including all taxes), compared to its previous closing price of ₹1,27,350 per 10 grams.

Silver price crosses ₹1.85 lakh mark
Silver also rose by ₹6,000 to an all-time high of ₹1,85,000 per kilogram (including all taxes). This is the fifth consecutive day of gains. It had closed at ₹1,79,000 per kilogram in the previous trading session.

Reasons for the rise
Traders attribute the sharp rise in bullion prices to sustained demand from jewelers and retailers ahead of the festive and wedding season. The rupee’s weakening against the dollar on Tuesday also played a significant role. Today, the rupee fell 12 paise to an all-time low of 88.80.

International Market Gold and Silver Rates
Spot gold prices fell below their record highs in the international market, but prices remained high. After touching an all-time high of $4,179.71 per ounce earlier in the day, it was trading 0.72 percent higher at $4,140.34 per ounce. Spot silver also fell after touching an all-time high of $53.54 per ounce. It closed down 1.92 percent at $51.36 per ounce.
