Sebi said in a statement, “The updated ‘Saa₹thi’ app explains complex financial things in a very easy way. Along with this, it also has a very user-friendly interface.”

The app includes financial calculators. It has modules that inform and explain the KYC process, mutual funds, ETFs, buying and selling of shares on stock exchanges, investor grievance redressal systems and mechanisms and online dispute resolution (ODR) platform. Additionally, the app is designed to assist investors in their personal finance planning. It also has a series of videos.

Speaking at the launch, Anant Narayan G, Whole Time Member, SEBI said, “In today’s times, social media sometimes provides biased or misleading information. In such a situation, there is a vital need for an unbiased, objective and reliable source of investment information. The Sarathi app serves this purpose by empowering investors with reliable and necessary information in the securities market. It can be especially useful for young investors who are about to start their financial journey.

Ananth Narayan added, “The content within the app is dynamic, helping us keep pace with rapidly evolving market conditions. Launching this app, the Income Tax Department said, “Taxpayers will get comprehensive information about tax deduction at source / tax collection at source (TDS / TCS), interest, dividend and share deals from this app. Along with this, they will also get the option to give their opinion on it.

What is AIS?

AIS is a tool or means that tells taxpayers about the information that is already with the Income Tax Department. All the financial transactions done by the income tax payer in a financial year are detailed in AIS. Apart from these, it also contains all the necessary information under the Income Tax Act, 1961.

How to use the app?

To access AIS for Taxpayers, taxpayers have to register on the app. PAN number has to be used for registration. Taxpayers will have to verify their identity through the OTP that will come on the registered mobile number and email ID on the e-filing portal. Taxpayers can also set a 4 digit pin number for the app.
