The Government of India has issued the gazette of Unified Pension Scheme on the eve of Republic Day. Employee organizations have called it a big blow. Manjit Singh Patel, President of National Mission for Old Pension Scheme India, has said that the government has shot itself in the foot before the budget.

VRS will be available only after 25 years of service in UPS. Not only this, after this the employee will have to wait till the age of sixty years for pension. If an employee retires at the age of 45, then he will have to wait for 15 years for pension.

Patel said, employees demanding restoration of old pension will be included in the Unified Pension Scheme based on their choice. If the employee chooses Unified Pension Scheme as an option, he will get the benefit of assured pension. National Pension System i.e. NPS will continue as before. No change has been made in it.

cThe Unified Pension Scheme will be applicable only to those employees who retire after completing at least 10 years of qualifying service. All such employees will be given 50 per cent of the average of the last 12 months as pension. It will also include dearness allowance, but in lieu of this, the employee contribution taken under NPS will also go to the government account. In lieu of the said contribution, the government will return one-tenth of the salary to the employees every six months in the form of a lump sum amount.

The demands of the employees were as follows:-

Public Holidays 2025: The year 2024 is ready to say goodbye and the year 2025 is about to knock. Even before the beginning of the new year, people have started looking for holidays available throughout the year. The Government of India has announced gazetted holidays for 2025.

The government has also announced optional holidays along with gazetted holidays. Gazetted holidays are mandatory government holidays, while optional holidays are discretionary of the employees. These vary according to the institution and the state. The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions has also issued a circular announcing 17 gazetted and 34 restricted holidays. In total, 41 holidays have been notified by the government in the year 2025. Let us know on which days and dates holidays have been declared in the year 2025.

What is a gazetted holiday?

Gazetted holidays are holidays in India that are notified by the Government of India. They are listed in the Government Gazette. These holidays are applicable nationwide or state-specific. These holidays are valid for government employees, educational institutions and generally in public and private organizations. Gazetted holidays are often declared for days of national importance (such as Republic Day, Independence Day) and major religious festivals (such as Diwali, Eid, Christmas).

Is there optional or restricted leave?

Optional holidays are often called “RH” or “Restricted Holidays”. These are the leaves that employees can choose as per their choice or requirement. These leaves are not compulsory and are mainly used to take into account various religious, cultural or personal needs. This leave is completely at the discretion of the employee. The organization provides a list of all optional holidays and employees can avail a limited number of these. Optional holidays are listed in the government gazette, but are not mandatory to observe.

Ration Card Rules: The Government of India runs many schemes for the people of the country. Different people of the country get the benefit of different schemes of the government.

The government brings most of its schemes for the poor and needy people of the country. Even today there are many people in India who are not able to eat even two meals a day.

The Government of India provides ration to such people at a very low rate under the National Food Security Act. The government issues ration cards to the people for this. With the help of which people are able to avail the facility of ration at a low price. The Food Department has made changes in the things available on the ration card. So this big change will happen from January 1, 2025.

Now the rules have changed for ration card holders

Under the National Food Security Act, changes have been made in the ration available at a lower price. The quantity of ration that was available earlier has now been changed. Earlier, one unit used to contain 3 kg rice and 2 kg wheat. Now, it has been reduced to 2 kg wheat and 2.5 kg rice, i.e. half a kg of rice has been reduced.

While half a kilo of wheat has been increased, however the unit in which 5 kg ration was available earlier is still 5 kg. Antyodaya ration card holders get 35 kg ration in which 14 kg wheat and 21 kg rice are available. Changes have been made in this too, now 18 kg rice and 17 kg wheat will be given in Antyodaya card. Although the quantity of ration is the same. But wheat has been increased by reducing rice. These rules have been implemented from 1st November.

E-KYC necessary before 1 January

The Food Department has issued information to all ration card holders to get KYC done. It is mandatory for all ration card holders to get e-KYC done. The ration cards of those ration card holders who will not get e-KYC done will be cancelled. Let us tell you that the government had earlier given a deadline of October 1 for this, which was later extended to November 1. So now this deadline is till December 1, that is, all ration card holders will have to get the KYC of the ration card done before January 1, 2025. Otherwise they will stop getting the facility of free ration and ration at low price.

The purpose of this commission is to remove salary inequalities and the impact of inflation. This will benefit government employees, retired employees and military personnel.

More than one crore government employees and pensioners are eagerly waiting for the formation of the 8th Pay Commission. The commission may submit recommendations to the government for increasing the salaries of employees. The 8th Pay Commission is likely to be implemented from January 2026. Historically, the central government has been implementing the recommendations of the new pay commission every decade. The 7th Pay Commission was implemented in January 2016. The first Pay Commission was formed in January 1946.

It is important to note that till now the Government of India has not made any formal announcement regarding the formation and implementation of the 8th Pay Commission. In December last year, the government had mentioned that at that time there was no plan to set up the 8th Central Pay Commission. However, now the Lok Sabha elections are over. In such a situation, there is a strong possibility that the government will move forward towards the formation of the commission. Usually after its formation, it takes about 12 to 18 months for the Pay Commission to submit its recommendations.

More than 1 crore people will benefit

When implemented, the 8th Pay Commission is expected to benefit around 49 lakh government employees and 68 lakh pensioners. Their remuneration is likely to be revised with the increase in the fitment factor. Reports suggest that the fitment factor will be set at 3.68 times the current value. Since the minimum basic pay of government employees is Rs 18,000, this hike will increase the basic pay by Rs 8,000 to Rs 26,000.

The fitment factor is important in deciding the salary and pay matrix of employees under the 8th Pay Commission. Its job will be to adjust the existing 7th CPC salary with the proposed 8th CPC pay scale.

The 7th Pay Commission introduced a fitment factor of 2.57 times. This led to an average increase of 14.29 per cent in the salary of employees. This fixed the minimum pay scale at Rs 18,000. The 8th Pay Commission is expected to help eliminate pay disparities between different employee groups and reduce the impact of inflation.

Many other benefits are also expected

Many other benefits are expected from the 8th Pay Commission. This includes revised pay scales and better retirement benefits. Apart from government employees, it will also affect military personnel and pensioners.

The aim of the 8th Pay Commission is to eliminate pay disparities between employee groups and to reduce the impact of inflation. As expectations are rising, the 8th Pay Commission is going to be an important milestone towards equal remuneration and financial security for government employees and retired employees.

The Government of India has issued an alert regarding cyber attacks across the country. Actually, the biggest hacker has threatened a cyber attack. After this, Modi government has issued an alert to the common people. One of the largest hacker groups has announced cyber attacks on Indian websites and critical websites. Understanding the seriousness of the matter, the Government of India has issued an alert to everyone.

Indian government issued alert

The government has now asked the ministry and all departments to proactively enhance their cyber security measures to prevent any unauthorized access. They have been asked to follow Cyber Hygiene Operating Procedures (SoPs). You have been asked to take all necessary steps to secure all your data and avoid hacking.

All central agencies became alert

Central agencies have become especially alert. Health sector should be the primary target of cyber infrastructure. The reason for this increased concern is that this sector remains on the radar of hackers all the time. This danger has increased especially after the Covid-19 pandemic. The agencies have actively asked the concerned ministries and departments to remain alert. So that, if any such cyber attack occurs, their efforts can be ended in time.

Pakistani hacker announces cyber party

Hacker groups of Pakistan and Indonesia, notorious for cyber threats, have announced a ‘cyber party’ on December 11. The announcement was made on his Telegram channel, where he proudly claims a membership of over 4,000. The same group had earlier issued a “red notice” targeting 12,000 government websites. Attempts have also been made to attack countries like the United States, Sweden and Israel.

The post Indian government issued alert: The Government of India has issued an alert regarding cyber attacks across the country. first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

How much HRA can be claimed in ITR: The Government of India has notified assessment forms (ITR forms for ay 2023 24) for filing Income Tax Return (ITR) by Individuals and Businesses for the financial year 2022-23.

Significantly, last year these forms were issued in the first week of April. Many types of investments help you to save income tax. One of these is House Rent Allowance ie HRA. If you are a salaried employee then you can take advantage of this. Let us tell you that to save tax, you can take advantage of HRA only in the old tax system. This will not be available in the new tax system.

Will get benefit in these circumstances

House rent allowance ie (HRA) in salary is a part of taxable income. Income tax is exempted under section 10 (13A) of the Income Tax Act. Keep in mind some circumstances for how much tax can be saved from HRA. In the situation in which the minimum amount will come, you can take advantage of tax exemption of HRA.

In the first situation, first of all, you should see how much HRA is there in the salary. HRA is 50% of the basic salary in metro cities and 40% of the salary in non-metro cities. The third condition is the amount left after deducting 10% of the annual salary from the annual house rent.

This is how you can save

You can understand how much you can save in HRA through an example. A person works in Delhi and lives in a rented house. His rent goes to 15 thousand rupees every month. He gets a maximum of one lakh rupees as HRA annually from his company. At the same time, his basic salary is 25 thousand rupees and dearness allowance is two thousand rupees. In this way, a salaried person can save a maximum of one lakh rupees.

These documents are necessary

To get exemption through house rent allowance, you must first have a rent agreement. Monthly rent, fixed time limit of the agreement, and expenses should be mentioned in this agreement. This rent agreement should be in stamp paper of Rs 100 or Rs 200. On the other hand, if the annual rent is more than one lakh rupees, then it is also necessary to have the PAN card of the landlord.

Apart from this, you should also have a receipt for paying the rent. Let us tell you that if your annual income is up to Rs 50 lakh, then you will have to fill Form 1 for ITR filing. Those earning more than 50 lakhs will have to fill ITR Form 2.

The post ITR Rebate: HRA can save tax up to one lakh rupees, know the complete calculation of savings first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

Since whatever cost is incurred in the construction of the expressway, it is reimbursed. However, now the people of Madhya Pradesh and those going there are going to have fun. Please note that now there will be no toll for private vehicles. Only commercial vehicles will pay toll.

MPRDC (Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation Limited) DM MH Rizvi said that earlier it was decided to collect toll from all four wheelers. But on the orders of the government, now toll tax will be collected from commercial vehicles only.

In the cabinet meeting last month, it was decided to give relief in toll tax to private vehicles including cars, jeeps and passenger buses on this route. After which the tender process is being completed afresh. It is being told that after the completion of the tender process by next month, all the three toll blocks built on the said route will start. It is noteworthy that MPRDC has got the asphalt work done on the said road three months back. To recover its amount, it has been decided to levy toll.

They will not have to pay toll tax

At the same time, let us tell you that some categories have also been created by the government. Those involved are not required to pay toll tax. Earlier 9 people were included in these categories, while now it has been increased to 25. These include vehicles from government employees to dead bodies, which do not have to pay toll tax.

All vehicles of Government of India and Government of Madhya Pradesh on official duty, non-commercial vehicles of former and present Members of Parliament and Legislative Assembly, all vehicles on duty on 17 routes of the State. Vehicles of Indian Army, Ambulances, Fire Brigade, Indian Posts and Telegraph Department, Tractor Trolleys used for agricultural purposes, Auto Rickshaws, Two wheelers, Bullock carts, Freedom fighters and recognized journalists and also passenger vehicles such as Buses, Cars, jeeps etc. will be exempted from toll.

If you belong to these 25 categories, you will not be taxed

If you want to secure your old age, then you must know about Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana (PMVVY) of the Government of India. This pension scheme was launched by the Central Government on May 4, 2017 keeping in mind the needs of senior citizens.

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) is running this scheme. If both husband and wife invest together under this scheme, then they can get a monthly pension of up to Rs 18,500 in old age. Know here the important things related to PMVVY.

Any senior can invest

To take advantage of this pension scheme, any senior citizen can invest in it. Earlier the limit for investing in this scheme was Rs 7.50 lakh, but now it has been increased to Rs 15 lakh. 7.4 percent interest is available in PMVVY. If both husband and wife separately invest Rs 15-15 lakh in this scheme, then they can get a monthly pension of up to Rs 18,500 from the government every month. But you have to invest for this before 31 March 2023

Pension benefit according to investment

Under Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana, monthly pension is available for a minimum of Rs 1000 and a maximum of Rs 9250. This pension depends on your invested amount. If you invest Rs 1.50 lakh in this, then you are given Rs 1000 monthly as pension, whereas if you invest Rs 15 lakh, you get Rs 9,250 as pension.

Understand the calculation of pension of Rs 18,500

If you invest Rs 15 lakh in this scheme, then you will get an annual interest of 7.40% on it, which will be Rs 1,11,000 in total. If you divide this amount in 12 parts, then a total of Rs 9,250 will be made. In this way you will get Rs 9,250 as pension every month. On the other hand, if husband and wife invest Rs 15 lakh each i.e. a total of Rs 30 lakh, then both will get Rs 9,250 separately i.e. a total of Rs 18,500 as pension.

Will get pension for 10 years

Under this scheme, the person is given the benefit of pension for 10 years, after 10 years the invested amount is returned with the last payment of pension. But if you want, you can surrender anytime before 10 years after the start of this scheme. In this, you are also given the option of monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annually to get pension. You can choose this option of your own free will.

How to apply

To apply for the scheme, one has to apply by visiting the official website of LIC. If you want, you can also apply offline. The first installment of pension will be received after one month, three months, six months or one year of your investment. It depends on which option you have chosen for pension, monthly, quarterly, half yearly or yearly.

The Government of India is soon going to implement a new labor law in the country. After which the employee will be entitled to gratuity only after working for one year. At the same time, employees will get overtime if they work more than 15 minutes than the scheduled time.

In the new labor law, a provision of four days of work and three days of leave will be given. According to the Labor Ministry, more than 31 states have accepted it. Most of the states have also made rules for this. According to sources, some states have raised objections on certain points, for which discussions are being held. However, it is not yet clear when the government will bring this law, but soon the new law will be implemented.

With the coming of the new labor law, employees will get three days off in a week. Employees must work 48 hours a week. During this, half an hour’s leave will also be available twice. If the company implements a 12-hour work shift, then it will have to give employees three days off in a week.

No night shift without the consent of women employees

Under the new law, if an employee had to take long leave, then he had to work for at least 240 days in a year, but now leave can be taken after working only 180 days. Women employees will not be forced to work in night shift without their consent.

PF and gratuity will be deducted more-

According to the new draft rules, the basic salary will be 50 percent or more of the total salary. With the increase in basic salary, the amount deducted for PF and gratuity will increase. In such a situation, after the implementation of the new rules, the salary will be less in the hands of the employee, but provident fund and gratuity will be more.

Final settlement in two days

After the new labor law comes, the full and final payment of the employees will be done in just two days. In case of leaving the job or getting fired from the job, all the money related process will be settled in just two days. At present it takes 45 days to complete the final payment.

If the negotiations between the union and the employer on any issue fail, it will be informed to the government and the matter will be sent to the tribunal. Employees will not be able to go on strike till the final decision is taken. In this, mass leave has also been kept in the category of strike.

The post New Labor Code: If you work 15 minutes more than the shift, then those who work for 180 days will get long holidays first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.
