New HSRP Rate: Government has fixed the rate of high-security number plate for bikes and cars

High Security Registration Plate: In Maharashtra, vehicle owners will have to pay a price of Rs 531 to Rs 879 to install high-security number plate (HSRP) in vehicles registered before April 1, 2019. This information was given by the Maharashtra Transport Department.

The payment link of the Transport Department has been activated for this. This price includes the cost of snap lock of the number plate and GST. The cost of installing HSRP for two-wheelers like tractor and bike and scooter will be Rs 531, Rs 590 for three-wheelers like auto-rickshaw and Rs 879 for large vehicles like car, bus, truck, tanker, tempo and trailer.

HSRP rates mentioned

To install high security number plates on old vehicles registered before April 2019, the state transport department has provided the facility of ‘appointment’ on its website and dedicated webpage. HSRP rates for different types of vehicles have also been mentioned on the website. GST will also be levied on these at the rate of 18 percent. The cost of each HSRP plate of 200 mm x 100 mm and 285 mm x 45 mm size for two-wheelers and three-wheelers will be Rs 219.9.

For four or more wheelers, the plate of 500 mm x 120 mm and 340 mm x 200 mm size will cost Rs 342.41. The cost of snap lock and third registration sign for all types of vehicles, excluding GST, will be Rs 10.18 and Rs 50 respectively.

The GST share for installing HSRP will be Rs 81 for two-wheelers and tractors, Rs 90 for three-wheelers and Rs 134.10 for four or more wheelers. HSRP: If you have not yet installed high security registration plate on your vehicle, then definitely get it done by June 30. After this the campaign will start on a large scale. Failure to have high security registration plate will attract a fine of Rs 5,000.

More than 3.79 lakh vehicles are running without HSRP (High Security Registration Plate) in Bareilly district. Now they have been given the last chance. A fine of Rs 5,000 will be charged from vehicle owners caught not getting HSRP installed by June 30.

A large number of vehicles running without HSRP are also commercial vehicles, whereas the deadline for installing HSRP in them was only till February 2024. The government had made HSRP mandatory on all types of vehicles from April 1, 2019.

HSRP started being issued along with registration for vehicles purchased after April 1, 2019; before this, HSRP had to be installed on the vehicles purchased only by the vehicle owners.

HSRP imposed on so many vehicles

There are 9,03,814 vehicles registered in the district. Of these, till now only 5,23,854 vehicle owners have got HSRP installed on their vehicles. Even now 3,79,960 vehicles are running in the district without HSRP. If statistics are to be believed, 80 percent of the vehicles running without HSRP are two-wheelers. Even after extending the deadline several times, vehicle owners did not take it seriously.

The fee for installing HSRP on a two-wheeler is Rs 500 and for a four-wheeler it is Rs 1200. Vehicle owners can apply online for HSRP on http://www.siam.in portal. By making payment, the vehicle owner can get the plate delivered to the nearest vehicle showroom and workshop.

Till now action has been taken on 597 commercial vehicles

After the deadline for installing HSRP on commercial vehicles has ended, the Transport Department has now started taking action against such vehicles. So far, fine has been imposed on 597 commercial vehicles. The campaign will start on a large scale after June 30.
