Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport) has issued a new advisory for passengers on Monday. It said that all operations are going on normally at Delhi Airport, but there may be a change in the timing of some flights.

The Airport Authority has made a special appeal to the passengers. He said that passengers are requested to get the latest information from their airline. At the same time, the 32 airports which were closed due to Indo-Pak tension have been reopened. The NOTAM issued at the airport has been withdrawn. The Airport Authority has given this information.

NOTAM issued at 32 airports was withdrawn

On May 10, amid Indo-Pak tension, 32 airports in India were announced to be temporarily closed for all civilian flight operations. But now the NOTAM issued at these 32 airports has been withdrawn. This decision has been taken after review. These 32 airports include Adampur, Ambala, Amritsar, Avantipora, Bathinda, Bhuj, Bikaner, Chandigarh, Halwara, Hindon, Jaisalmer, Jammu, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Kandla, Kangra (Gaggal), Keshod, Kishangarh, Kullu Manali (Bhuntar), Leh, Ludhiana, Mundra, Nalia, Pathankot, Patiala, Porbandar, Rajkot (Hiraser), Sarsawa, Shimla, Srinagar, Thois and Uttarlai.

Giving information, the Airport Authority said that it is informed that 32 airports, which were temporarily closed for civil aircraft operations till 05:29 PM on 15 May 2025, are now available for civil aircraft operations with immediate effect. Passengers are advised to check the flight status directly with the airlines and check the airlines’ websites for regular updates.

This update regarding flight timing

Meanwhile, Indira Gandhi International Airport said in a statement, “All operations are going on normally at Delhi Airport. However, due to the changing airspace situation and increased security measures by the Civil Aviation Security Bureau, the timing of some flights may change and security checks may take longer. The airport authority has asked passengers to get the latest information from the airline. It has also said that passengers should follow the rules of hand bag and check-in luggage. Arrive early to avoid possible delays in security checks.

Cooperate with airline and security staff. Check flight status information from your airline or Delhi airport’s official website. The airport authority further said, “Please trust only official sources and avoid sharing incorrect information. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. We are working closely with all concerned parties to ensure a safe and smooth travel experience.”

The main runway of IGI Airport has resumed operations from today after CAT-IIIB upgradation, which will solve the problem of flight delays and diversions.

Due to the closure of the main runway of Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) for the last few days to upgrade the CAT-IIIB instrument landing system, many flights were getting delayed and many flights had to be diverted. But, this problem will be solved from today because Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has reopened this runway from today. However, the upgradation work on the runway is not yet complete.

The main runway 10/28 of Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) was closed on 8 April to upgrade the CAT-IIIB Instrument Landing System (ILS) here. The old system has been improved on the Vasant Vihar side and the CAT-IIIB system has been installed for the first time on the Dwarka side. It is worth noting that due to the closure of this runway, the capacity of IGI Airport had reduced and only three runways were in operation. Due to easterly winds, the airport was able to land a maximum of 32 aircraft every hour, whereas many more flights are planned. Due to this, an average of 94 flights were getting affected daily.

After the runway was

closed, flights in Delhi faced huge problems. Due to the unusual easterly winds blowing for some time, planes had to land from Dwarka and take off from Vasant Vihar. This affected air traffic and many flights were delayed and diverted.

Government intervened

Seeing the inconvenience being faced by passengers, Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu had advised Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) to get the ILS system work done after the summer holidays. However, DIAL said that this work has been done as per the plan after the consent of all the necessary agencies. DIAL says that runway 10/28 will be closed again between June and September 2025, when the number of tourists will be less and the wind direction will also be favorable.

Indira Gandhi International Airport: Flight operations at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport will remain restricted till January 26 due to security measures for the Republic Day week. This announcement has been made by the airport operator.

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) said in its statement, ‘As per the NOTAM issued for Republic Day from January 19 to 26, no flight will arrive or depart from Delhi airport between 10:20 am and 12:45 pm.

‘Contact the concerned airline’

Delhi airport operator DIAL said on Saturday that in view of the Republic Day week, no flights will arrive and depart between 10.20 am and 12.45 pm for the next eight days till January 26. DIAL has also suggested passengers to get more information about the flight. DIAL said, ‘For flight information, passengers are requested to contact the concerned airline.’

What is republic day parade

Republic Day Parade is a grand parade held every year on 26th January in India, which is organized to commemorate the country becoming a republic. This parade is held on Rajpath (now Kartavya Path) in the capital New Delhi and is considered one of the most important national events of India. The President of the country takes the salute of this parade. Also, foreign guests are also present on this occasion. Every year a theme is also decided for the parade.

Parade becomes a symbol of diversity

India became a republic on 26 January 1950. On that day the Indian Constitution came into force and India was established as a sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic republic. The tradition of the parade began from that year and it became a symbol of the pride and diversity of Indian democracy.

What is the theme this time?

The Defence Ministry had said in December that the theme of the tableau display in the upcoming Republic Day parade is ‘Golden India: Heritage and Development’. Also, 15 states and union territories have been selected to present tableaus on the path of duty on January 26. These states and union territories are – Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chandigarh, Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

Delhi Airport Update: The update from Indigo Airlines has increased the problems of the passengers. In fact, all flight operations were suspended on Friday after the roof of the forecourt of Terminal One-D of IGI Airport collapsed. As a result, the airlines Indigo and SpiceJet operating flights from this terminal also announced the cancellation of all their flights.

On Friday afternoon, it was decided to shift the flights operating from Terminal One-D to Terminal Two and Terminal Three. The Aviation Ministry also hoped that the flights flying from Terminal One will start operating from Terminal Two and Three after 2 pm on Friday. After this news, passengers heaved a sigh of relief. But, an update from Indigo some time ago has again increased the concern of the passengers.

In fact, IndiGo has informed in its new update that all flights flying from Terminal One on June 28 have been cancelled. The airline has informed that the operation of these flights will start from Terminal Two and Terminal Three from midnight on June 29. The airline has once again clarified that until the situation becomes normal, all arrivals and departures of the airlines will be from Terminal Two and Terminal Three only.

The facilities available to passengers at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport) are going to increase. In fact, the facility of self baggage drop has been started for passengers at Indira Gandhi International Airport.

After the introduction of this facility, passengers will now be able to get rid of standing in line for depositing their luggage at the airport. After this, the waiting time of the passengers coming to the airport will also be reduced. After this facility, the waiting time of passengers will also reduce to 15-20 minutes. Also, after this facility, it will be easier for the passengers to check in at the airport.

At which terminal the facility started

Self-baggage drop facility for passengers at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport) in Delhi has been started at terminal number three. Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), the managing body of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, has installed 14 SBD machines including 12 automatic ones to facilitate self baggage drop. However, at present this facility will be available only to domestic passengers. After getting all necessary approvals, this facility will also be started for international passengers.

Delhi International Airport Limited issued a release

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), the organization that manages Indira Gandhi International Airport, issued a release related to this service, saying that currently passengers of the country’s largest airline company Indigo will be able to use this facility. After this, passengers of Vistara, Air India, Air France, and British Airways will also be given the benefit of this facility.

How to use this service

Passengers of Indira Gandhi International Airport will be able to use the facility of self baggage drop in two stages. For this, passengers will first have to take the check-in kiosk boarding pass and baggage tag. Passengers will then have to manually tag their checked baggage. Passengers will then have to scan their boarding pass near the machine.

Passengers will then have to declare that they are not carrying any prohibited or dangerous goods. After this, the passengers will have to keep the luggage on the conveyor belt. After this whole process, your luggage will automatically reach the flight. Along with this, the machine installed for this will also weigh and scan the goods.

The post Delhi airport New Service: Self baggage drop service started at IGI Airport, now no need to stand in line to deposit bags first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

In order to provide better services to passengers, Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport has started ‘DigiYatra’ registration process at the gate.

According to Delhi International Airport Limited, passengers can now avail the ‘DigiAtra’ facility at Terminal 3 of IGI Airport. This will increase the registration process and save the time of the passengers.

With the commencement of the DigiYatra registration process, passengers will no longer need to face long queues and install the DigiYatra app. Because after ‘DigiYatra’ registration, entry will be given by scanning the boarding pass, showing the face.

According to Delhi International Airport Limited, the new system will help passengers easily complete their 3-step registration process. All they need to do is scan their boarding pass, complete the facial recognition process and show their identity proof to the security guards at the registration desk. After successfully completing the process, passengers can easily navigate through the terminals including boarding gates and other security check points.

Digiyatra Registration Benefits

At present, passengers can avail the facility of DigiYatra registration process at all departure gates of Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 at IGI Airport. The new registration process will provide safe, fast and smooth service to passengers, thereby saving valuable time. Apart from this, this initiative will also be helpful for those people who do not know much about technology. Passengers will now be able to spend more time with their relatives at the airport before saying goodbye.

Know what is DigiYatra?

DigiYatra was initially launched on December 1, 2022 to provide a contactless environment, hassle free travel, improve passenger mobility at boarding gates, enhance security measures and offer dedicated gates during the COVID period. It was observed that with the introduction of this system, passengers have been able to save around 15 to 25 minutes.

The post IGI Airport has started the registration process for DigiYatra, know the complete details first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

After Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, now new guidelines have been issued for passengers at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) as well.

Airlines have said in the advisory issued for the passengers that now it will be necessary to reach the airport 3.5 hours before the flight time. The companies have also fixed the weight of the passengers’ bags.

Indigo, the largest company in the domestic aviation sector, has said in an advisory for passengers that in view of the increasing crowd at the airport, passengers should reach the airport about 3.5 hours before the boarding time. Passengers have also been advised to bring light weight bags. The airline company has said that more passengers than usual are arriving at the airport in December, due to which the check in and boarding process may take longer. Therefore, to avoid this inconvenience, passengers should reach the airport about 3.5 hours before.

Why the new advisory was issued

Christmas and New Year holidays are falling at the end of December. Therefore, a large number of people are making plans to go on a trip within the country and abroad. Due to the possibility of increasing the crowd at the airport, the airline companies have issued a new advisory. In this, it has been said that in order that the passengers do not get disturbed at the airport, it is necessary that they complete their web check-in in advance. Passengers should reach the airport about 3.5 hours before the departure of the flight, so that the check-in process can be done quickly and smoothly.

Airline companies have asked passengers to bring only handbags weighing up to 7 kg to avoid inconvenience. Indigo has said that people traveling on its flights should come from gate number 5 and 6 of IGI Airport, as most of the company’s counters are near this gate. It is worth mentioning that earlier the passengers were given entry from 14 gates at IGI, which has now been increased to 16.

Advisory implemented at Mumbai airport too Earlier, a new advisory has been implemented at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in view of the increasing crowd on the occasion of New Year and Christmas. It has been said that passengers traveling to international destinations should reach the airport 3.5 hours before the departure of the flight, while domestic air passengers will have to reach the airport 2.5 hours before the time.
