After Lalganj division, soon meter readers in other divisions will prepare bills by taking readings of two months. Actually, due to the large scope of meter readers, they were being careless in taking readings. Keeping this in mind, preparations are being made for this now.

In villages, due to the negligence of the meter readers, there were frequent errors in the bills. Due to this, the consumers had to face trouble. They had to make rounds of the offices. The meter readers did not prepare the bills every month. After investigation, both the deficiency and negligence of the meter readers came to light.

Due to heavy workload, meter readers were just doing the formality in the name of reading. The most problem was found in Lalganj division. To solve this problem, meter readers in villages will now visit consumers’ homes every two months. They will prepare bills after taking readings. This means that now consumers will pay bills for two months together. The division will be divided into four parts. This will be done in a phased manner.

There are a total of 375 meter readers in the district. There are 75 meter readers in Lalganj. After Lalganj division, this system will soon be started in the rural areas of Raniganj, Kunda and Sadar divisions. Superintending Engineer Satyapal said that now this initiative will be taken in other divisions too, so that the billing system can be improved.

New Delhi. The government has now geared up to curb cyber crime and online fraud in the country. To prevent the use of mobile SIM in online fraud, telecom operators can disconnect about 18 lakh mobile connections across the country.

The involvement of these mobile numbers has come to light in the investigation of cyber crime and financial fraud cases by various law enforcement agencies. In view of this, the Department of Telecommunications has asked telecom companies to disconnect 28,220 handsets and verify more than 20 lakh mobile connections.

Investigating agencies have found out that several thousand mobile SIMs have been used on the same mobile handset. Instead of using SIM cards of their own telecom circle, fraudsters generally use SIM cards of other telecom circles so as to avoid the attention of telecom companies and agencies. Apart from this, they do not use one SIM in the same mobile for long. To protect themselves, fraudsters make only a few outgoing calls and then change the SIM.

Only 10 percent of SIMs get verified

According to an Economic Times report, an official said that generally in cases of suspicious SIMs, only 10 percent of the connections get verified and the rest are disconnected. When telecom companies re-verify within 15 days and the SIM is not verified, the connection is disconnected. The Department of Telecommunications fears that most of the 20 lakh SIMs which have been ordered to be verified will be used for wrong purposes and the person using them will not get them verified.

Telecom companies had blocked around 200,000 SIMs last year for alleged involvement in cyber crimes. In Mewat, Haryana itself, the government had closed more than 37,000 SIM cards simultaneously after a thorough investigation. The government believes that telecom companies need to be more proactive in detecting usage patterns of SIMs, especially those purchased outside the domestic circle.

Cyber crimes are increasing.

The number of mobile phone based cyber crimes is continuously increasing in the country. According to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP), victims of digital financial fraud lost ₹10,319 crore in 2023. According to a report by the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance, more than 694,000 complaints were received in 2023.

Indian Traffic Rules: Traffic rules should be followed while walking on the road. This is very important from the point of view of the safety of you and other people walking on the road. The traffic police also impose heavy fines on those who do not follow the traffic rules. Many times it also happens that during the checking, a traffic police constable does some such action which is not allowed to him. In this, it is most important to take out the keys from the vehicles during the investigation.

Perhaps you too must have seen this scene or it may be that in real life also you must have seen the traffic police taking out the keys from the vehicles. Is there any such law to remove the key from the car? Can a traffic policeman do anything he wants? If not, how to take action against such people? Today we are going to answer all these questions of yours in this article. Let us tell you today what are your rights as a driver.

Who can deduct the challan?

According to the Indian Motor Vehicles Act 1932, only a traffic police personnel above the rank of an assistant sub-inspector can impose fines for violating traffic rules. Only ASI, Sub-Inspector and Inspector are allowed to impose fine on the spot. Traffic constable or home guard etc. are there only to help them. However, they also have no right to remove the keys from your vehicle, nor can the traffic policeman remove the air from the tires of your vehicles.

If caught by the traffic police, keep these things in mind:

The traffic policeman can impose fine on you only if he has a challan book or e-challan machine. Without any of these things, he cannot fine you. The traffic police should be wearing a uniform bearing their name badge. If the traffic police is in civil dress then you can also ask them to show their ID card. The thing to keep in mind is that the head constable of the traffic police can impose a fine of just Rs 100 on anyone. Only an ASI or SI rank policeman can impose a fine of more than Rs.100.

Cannot remove the key No

Traffic policeman has the right to remove the key from your vehicle. If a traffic policeman does this, then you can record this incident. By recording, you can complain about this to the senior officer in the nearest police station. Keep in mind that you must have your driving license and pollution control certificate while driving. Apart from this, you should also have a copy of your car’s registration and insurance papers. You can also use the digital format of these papers.

Fine can be paid later

If your challan is deducted, and you do not have the money to pay the fine on the spot, then you can pay the fine later. If a police personnel misbehaves with you during checking, you can complain to a senior officer.
