Let us tell you that on three petitions challenging the tender process of liquor shops in Chandigarh, the Punjab and Haryana High Court had issued a notice for April 3 on Wednesday and ordered to maintain the status quo. Liquor shops in Chandigarh will remain closed from April 1 i.e. today to April 3. The Punjab and Haryana High Court had issued orders in this regard.

The High Court had stayed the orders for allotment of new contracts till April 3. Several applicants had approached the High Court against the tendering and allotment of contracts. The petition alleged that out of 97 contracts in the city, 91 contracts were allotted to one group, due to which this group will have a monopoly on the contracts of the city. The High Court has stayed the orders for allotment till the next hearing.

Excise Policy 2025: The Madhya Pradesh government has implemented the new Excise Policy 2025, making many important changes in the rules of liquor sale. Now liquor will not be sold without a POS machine, liquor shops located around religious places will be closed, and it has been decided to shift some shops to new locations.

Also, the government has indicated to increase the price of liquor to compensate for the revenue loss from the closed shops. Apart from this, additional charges will be imposed for serving liquor in bars and restaurants.

Sale of liquor will be banned near religious places

Under the new policy, liquor shops in 19 religious cities and villages of the state will be completely closed from April 1, 2025. The government says that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the respect of religious sentiments and social balance. However, the government fears a loss of revenue due to this, to meet which the prices of other liquor shops may be increased by up to 25%.

Liquor sales will be monitored through POS machine

The government has made it mandatory to install POS (Point of Sale) machines at all shops to increase transparency in liquor sales. This will record every sale digitally and prevent tax evasion. If a contractor sells liquor without a POS machine, he will have to pay a fine of Rs 25,000. This fine may increase further if the rules are violated repeatedly.

Changes in licensing rules

According to the new excise policy, contractors will now have to submit e-bank guarantee, which will be valid till 30 April 2026 and cannot be used for any other work. To compensate for the losses caused by the closure of liquor shops in religious cities and villages, the government has prepared a formula, under which 25% of the annual value of the closed shops will be added to the prices of other shops.

Sale of liquor will be banned in some places

According to the new policy, liquor shops will be completely closed in 13 municipal corporations and 6 gram panchayats of the state. No new licenses will be issued at these places nor will these shops be shifted to any other place.

New rules for liquor sales at commercial events

The government has introduced new license rules for liquor sales at commercial events. Now the fee for serving liquor at events has been fixed from Rs 25,000 for 500 people to Rs 2 lakh for more than 5,000 people.

Delhi Dry Day List: Due to the assembly elections in Delhi, there will be dry days for four days, orders have already been issued for this. Liquor cannot be served anywhere on these days.

Assembly elections in Delhi have been announced and now voting will take place on 5 February, all kinds of preparations have been done for this. Due to elections in Delhi, liquor shops will also be kept closed, four days have been fixed for this. That means liquor shops in Delhi will remain completely closed for four days.

Liquor shops will remain closed in Delhi from February 3 to February 5 till the voting ends. Apart from this, the election results will be declared on February 8, so this day will also be a dry day. Now the question in people’s mind is that liquor shops will remain closed for so many days in Delhi, but will liquor not be available in Noida and Gurugram too? We will give you the answer to this.

Noida is in Uttar Pradesh and Gurugram is a city in Haryana, so there will be no restrictions on liquor shops here. That means people of Noida and Gurugram can get liquor. However, liquor shops can be closed in some areas adjacent to Delhi. The same thing happened during the Lok Sabha elections.

Then some shops adjacent to the Delhi border were kept closed due to security reasons. Now if you are thinking that you can bring liquor from Noida-Gurugram on dry day in Delhi then you are wrong, if you are caught with liquor in Delhi on the voting day, you can be jailed and fined.

The festival season is approaching in Delhi, and during this time the sale of liquor will be banned for several days. The Excise Department of the Delhi Government has released a detailed calendar in this regard, which clearly states on which days the liquor shops will remain closed.

It has become necessary for liquor lovers to make plans during these dry days, so that they are not deprived of enjoying their favorite drink.

Dry Days in the Month of October

There will be a total of four days in October when liquor shops will remain closed. It is important to understand the importance of these days:

1. 2 October – Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti

This day is celebrated as the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, who was a great leader of India’s freedom struggle. The sale of liquor has been banned due to celebrating this day as a national festival.

2. 12 October – Dussehra

Dussehra, which marks the killing of Ravana, is a major festival of Hinduism. On this day, people of the family and society gather, and its importance increases. Therefore, there will be no sale of liquor on this day.

3. 17 October – Valmiki Jayanti

The birth anniversary of Saint Valmiki, who is known in Indian literature as the author of ‘Ramayana’, this day will also be celebrated as a liquor ban.

4. 31 October – Diwali

Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is an important festival in Hinduism. On this day, family members celebrate together, so the sale of alcohol will be banned on this day as well.

Dry days in the month of November

There will be two important dry days in November as well:

1. 15 November – Guru Nanak Jayanti

This day is celebrated as the birth anniversary of the first Guru of Sikhism, Guru Nanak Dev Ji. On this occasion, devotees perform special prayers and spread the message of unity in the society, so the sale of alcohol will be banned on this day as well.

2. 24 November – Guru Teg Bahadur Martyrdom Day

This day is dedicated to remembering the martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur, who was the ninth Guru of Sikhism. The sale of alcohol will be banned on this day as well.

Sale of alcohol continues in hotels

The sale of alcohol will continue in hotels with certain license holders in Delhi, such as L-15 and L-15F licenses. This means that if you are going to a big hotel or bar, you will be able to get alcohol even during these dry days. This rule is applicable only to hotels with a special license, and there will be no restriction on the sale of alcohol in such hotels.

Know the importance of festivals

The main reason behind these dry days is that the festival season holds social and religious significance. The Delhi government aims to ensure that people celebrate national festivals and major festivals together. This ban on the sale of alcohol promotes unity and harmony in the society, so that people can share happiness with their family and friends.

Thus, it is essential for liquor lovers to note down these dates carefully in their calendars. This festive period is not only important from a religious and cultural point of view, but it also gives a message of unity and brotherhood in our society. In this regard, spending time with your family and participating in various activities during these dry days can be a positive option. Realizing the lack of liquor sales in this festive season, people can engage in other recreational activities, which will give them a new feeling and enjoy the festivals to the fullest.

Friday will be a dry day in Delhi. During this period, liquor shops will remain closed in the capital. The government has taken this decision in view of the martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur.

According to the government order, this time there will be a dry day in Delhi on 24th November instead of Christmas i.e. 25th December. This means that liquor shops will remain closed in Delhi on 24th November.

Arvind Kejriwal government has made a big announcement on Thursday. According to the government, Friday will be a dry day in Delhi. During this period, liquor shops will remain closed in the capital. The government has taken this decision in view of the martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur.

Due to the martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the government has declared 24th November i.e. Friday as a dry day in Delhi. In such a situation, liquor shops will remain closed in Delhi. The special thing is that this time there will be no dry day in Delhi on Christmas. Meaning liquor shops will not remain closed.

According to the Excise Department, this time there will be a dry day in Delhi on 24th November instead of Christmas i.e. 25th December. This means that liquor shops will remain closed in Delhi on 24th November. Let us inform that in its order issued on September 29, the department had declared six dry days during October-December, which also included December 25, when Christmas will be celebrated.

Officials associated with the Excise Department said that now it has been changed. Now there will be a dry day on the martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur.

Delhi Liquor Shop: Liquor shops will remain closed in Delhi on the day of Chhath Puja. Delhi Excise Department has given information in this regard.

It has been decided to close liquor shops on 19th November. Let us tell you that Congress had already made a demand in this regard. The Excise Commissioner of Delhi informed through a notice that November 19 has been declared a dry day through Section 52 of the Liquor Policy. This order of the government will be effective on all licensed liquor shops.

Let us tell you that a lot of politics was also going on in this matter. Delhi Pradesh Congress President Arvinder Singh Lovely had said that it was incomprehensible why the Delhi government did not take the decision not to close liquor shops on November 19.

The Aam Aadmi Party government of Delhi should have apologized to the people of Purvanchal. Are the people of Purvanchal just like a vote bank for Aam Aadmi Party? If the government does not take care of the religious sentiments and beliefs of the people, then who will?

About 900 ghats have been built in Delhi for Chhath Puja. Delhi government says that special arrangements have been made to ensure that no devotee faces any kind of problem on the festival of public faith. Due to the large number of people from Bihar and Purvanchalis in Delhi, Chhath Puja also becomes political. Recently, BJP and Congress had alleged that on one hand the Aam Aadmi Party government talks about cleaning the Yamuna river. But people are forced to worship in chemical water.

The post Liquor Shop Closed: Liquor shops will remain closed in Delhi on 19 November, check details first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

Wine lovers must read this news. The Delhi government has declared 4 dry days for the upcoming festivals. It has been said by the government that liquor shops in Delhi will remain closed on Muharram, Independence Day, Janmashtami and Eid-e-Milad.

Please inform that Muharram is on 29th July. Independence Day is celebrated every year on 15 August. Apart from this, Janmashtami is on 7th September and Eid-e-Milad is on 28th September. Liquor shops in Delhi will remain closed on all these dates.

The festival season is about to start soon in the country. In view of which the Delhi government has taken this decision. It is already a rule on Independence Day that liquor shops remain closed on this day. Means Dry Day is already declared on Independence Day. Apart from this, in view of the festivals, the state governments can take a decision on their behalf regarding liquor shops.

It is being told that a proposal was given to the CM by the Excise Department to keep liquor shops closed during these four special days. After this, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has approved this proposal. Explain that every three months, the Delhi government issues a list of dry days.

An excise department official said, “As per excise rules, license holders are not allowed to sell liquor on dry days. This restriction does not apply to hotels, bars, clubs or some other places on this day. However, serving of liquor is prohibited in all these places as well on Independence Day, Republic Day and the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. At present, there are about 21 dry days in Delhi in a year. However, when the Delhi government came up with a new liquor policy, suddenly these dry days were reduced from 21 to 3. However, the Excise Policy 2021-22 was withdrawn by the government when the CBI registered a case regarding the alleged scams in this policy.

The official said that the schedule of dry days is issued by the Excise Department every year and the number of dry days may increase on elections and some other special occasions. How many dry days will there be in a year? Its number is not fixed and the government can make changes in it.
