What is the fare of Namo Bharat?

This marginal difference in fare will ensure better comfort, assured seating, special amenities and peaceful travel experience for the passengers, which will prove beneficial for both daily and long distance travellers. For example, if a passenger travels from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South, he will have to pay a fare of Rs 150 in standard coach and Rs 180 in premium coach.

The route is 55 km long

Currently, NaMo Bharat trains operate on a 55-km-long route, covering 11 stations: New Ashok Nagar, Anand Vihar, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Duhai Depot, Muradnagar, Modinagar South, Modinagar North, and Meerut South. To improve connectivity between these two stations, e-rickshaws are available under shuttle service, which will ferry passengers from one station to another free of cost during peak hours and ensure comfortable, safe and hassle-free travel for passengers. Ghaziabad Namo Bharat Station is located at Meerut Mod Tiraha on Ghaziabad-Meerut road, which is between major roads.

Electric buses operated by Ghaziabad City Transport Services Limited are already providing last mile connectivity at all Namo Bharat stations in Ghaziabad.

These buses run on seven different routes including Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, DPS Rajnagar Guldhar, Duhai, Murad Nagar, Modi Nagar South and Modi Nagar North stations. Along with this, taxi services by mobility partners are also available for passengers, some of which also offer discounts for NaMo Bharat Train passengers.

Namo Bharat train driven manually, high speed test planned

In this trial of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), the Namo Bharat train was run manually to check the compatibility of the civil structure. As the trial progresses, the NCRTC will conduct a comprehensive evaluation to assess the integration and coordination of the train with various subsystems such as track, signaling, platform screen door (PSD) and overhead power supply system. Photo over bridge will be prepared

The New Ashok Nagar RRTS station is located less than 100 metres from the New Ashok Nagar Metro station. To integrate these two modes of transport, NCRTC is constructing a foot over bridge (FOB) to connect the concourse level of the Metro station to the concourse of the RRTS station. Additionally, to facilitate access to the New Ashok Nagar RRTS station, two more FOBs are being constructed, one towards Chilla Village and Mayur Vihar Extension and the other near the ancient Shiv Mandir. These FOBs will provide easy access to the residents of New Ashok Nagar to commute to the station.

A total of nine stations will be included from Sahibabad to Meerut South

NCRTC has recently won top honors among various international participants at the UIC Sustainability Impact Awards 2024 in Germany. These include two awards, the Best Transit Award for Seamless Connectivity and the prestigious Overall Winner Award. Currently, Namo Bharat Train services operate in a 42 km section from Sahibabad to Meerut South. This section includes a total of nine stations namely Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Duhai Depot, Muradnagar, Modi Nagar South, Modi Nagar North and Meerut South.

The MoU was signed between DMRC and NCRTC on Wednesday to facilitate seamless travel to the residents of Delhi-NCR. The effort is in line with the ‘One India – One Ticket’ initiative that will allow passengers to book QR code tickets for both NaMo Bharat and Delhi Metro services on a single platform. The MoU was signed in the presence of NCRTC Managing Director Shalabh Goel and DMRC Managing Director Dr Vikas Kumar.

Under the integrated ticketing system, passengers booking Namo Bharat train tickets from the RRTS Connect app can also buy Delhi Metro tickets along with it. Similarly, Namo Bharat train tickets can also be bought from the DMRC mobile app to book metro tickets. This collaboration will create Delhi Metro QR CODE on the RRTS Connect app and Namo Bharat QR CODE on the DMRC mobile app, which will greatly improve the passenger experience.

Start of integration of transport modes

This agreement will eliminate the need to switch between different ticketing apps while traveling between NCRTC and DMRC networks. The currently operational 42 km RRTS corridor is seamlessly connected to the 393 km DMRC network, providing passengers with an integrated and efficient ticketing and travel experience across NCR. This integration encourages the use of public transport, which is critical to increasing passenger-numbers and ensuring the long-term sustainability of these large-scale projects.

All efforts are being made to reduce travel time

This initiative comes after a similar agreement was recently signed between NCRTC and IRCTC for booking Namo Bharat train tickets on the IRCTC platform. Namo Bharat Train, with a design speed of 180 km/h and an operational speed of up to 160 km/h, reduces travel time in the region by one-third. The target is to operate Namo Bharat train services on the 82 km long RRTS corridor of Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut by June 2025, which will enable people to travel between Delhi and Meerut in less than an hour.

According to news agency IANS, with the help of this feature, the passenger neither needs to write the destination in the app nor book an advance ticket for the journey to generate a QR code to reach his destination.

Just by clicking on One Tap Booking in the app, QR ticket will be generated for the journey. This initiative will provide ease of travel to the passengers and passengers will also be able to change their destination without any dilemma during the journey.

Neither the departure station nor the destination station is required to be selected. There
will be no need to select either the departure station nor the destination station in the app to generate the digital QR code in the process of purchasing tickets through the one-tap booking facility.

Typically any such app requires departure and destination selection at the beginning of the journey, so the destination cannot be changed during the journey. To avail this facility, passengers will have to link their e-wallet to the mobile application and it will be mandatory to keep a minimum amount in the e-wallet, which will be only Rs 100 .

Along with this, passengers will have to activate the location services of their mobile phones while using this app. With the help of QR code, passengers will be able to enter the RRTS station by scanning the QR code and end their journey by scanning the same QR code at any station on the corridor.

The prescribed amount will be automatically deducted from the e-wallet at the time of exit from the AFC gate of the destination station for the journey undertaken by the passenger through QR code scan.

Rapid Rail was started on October 20.
