Phase 1: Prerequisites (The Must-Haves)

Before you even log into the portal, ensure these four things are correct.

1. Valid Aadhaar Number (12 digits) or Enrolment ID.

2. Registered Mobile Number with UIDAI for OTP verification.

3. Correct Address in UIDAI records (Delivery only goes to this registered address).

4. Payment Method (Debit/Credit Card, UPI, or Net Banking) for the fee.

Phase 2: The Online Ordering Process

The only place to do this is the official portal. Never share your Aadhaar details on unofficial websites.

1. Go to the Source: Visit the official UIDAI portal (uidai.gov.in).

2. Select Service: Find and select ‘Order Aadhaar PVC Card’ under the My Aadhaar section.

3. Authentication: Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and the Captcha code.

4. Verify: A one-time password (OTP) is sent to your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP to verify.

5. Review: Carefully check the displayed details—your name, photo, date of birth, and address.

6. Pay: Pay the non-refundable fee of ₹50 using your preferred online payment method.

7. Save: Save the Service Request Number (SRN) that is generated. You need this for tracking, or nothing.

Smart Take: If you have family members, order their PVC cards simultaneously. It might save you from separate delivery charges later on.

Phase 3: Delivery and Troubleshooting

Once the order is placed, you enter the waiting period. The whole process is estimated to take 10 to 20 working days.

Common Issues and Fixes

• Mobile Not Registered: You cannot proceed online. Visit your nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra with identity proof to update your mobile number first.

• Address is Wrong/Old: The card will only deliver to the recorded address. You must update your address at an Aadhaar Seva Kendra, wait about 7 days for the system to process the update, and then order the card.

• Card Not Received: If the 20-day mark passes, check the tracking status using your SRN. If it shows as “returned” due to address issues, you must re-order. You can also contact the UIDAI helpline at 1947.

The official PVC card speeds up verification by 60-70% for banks and NBFCs, making it crucial for financial readiness.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), which issues Aadhaar, has announced that you can now download Aadhaar card even without a registered mobile number. This step has been taken to help those who have not registered their mobile number, or are facing any problem in downloading the card from their number. Actually, let’s know how you can download Aadhar card without mobile number.

Know the easy process to download Aadhaar 

1. First of all go to the official website of UIDAI and tap on ‘My Aadhaar’. 
2. Now click on ‘Order Aadhaar PVC Card’. 
3. Now you will be asked to enter the 12 digit Aadhaar number here.
4. Here you can also enter 16 digit Virtual Identification Number (VID) instead of Aadhaar number.
5. After this process, enter the security or captcha code given to you. 
6. If you want to download the card without registered mobile number, click on the option ‘My mobile number is not registered’.
7. Now enter your alternate number or unregistered mobile number.
8. Now click on ‘Send OTP’
9. Now One Time Password (OTP) will be sent to the alternate number entered by you. 
10. Next, you click on the ‘Terms and Conditions’ checkbox and then finally click on ‘Submit’. 
11. Now you will be redirected to a new page.
12. For the verification of reprinting, you will get the option of preview Aadhaar letter here. 
13. After this you select the option of ‘Make Payment’.
