Good news has come for those driving 10-15 year old cars in the national capital Delhi. CM Rekha Gupta’s government has given relief to old car owners and has withdrawn the decision to ban them.

Now even old cars will get fuel at petrol pumps. Now old cars will not be seized at petrol pumps. Now there will be no ban on cars on the basis of age. Let us tell you that many people were expressing displeasure over the decision to ban vehicles and not give them fuel at the pumps.

Old vehicles will not be seized

The Delhi government has taken a U-turn on the decision regarding old cars. Now old cars will not be useless in Delhi but will run because the Rekha Gupta government has withdrawn the decisions implemented from July 1. That means now 10 year old diesel cars and 15 year old petrol cars will also get fuel at petrol pumps. Along with this, the Delhi government has also decided that old vehicles will no longer be seized at petrol pumps.

Then on what basis will action be taken against the vehicles?

After CM Rekha Gupta’s government withdrew the decision to ban old cars, even old cars will now get fuel at petrol pumps. Now cars will not be banned on the basis of age. Action will be taken on cars based on pollution. Diesel cars older than 10 years, petrol cars older than 15 years and scooties and motorcycles older than 15 years will also get fuel at petrol pumps.

What was the government’s earlier decision?

A new rule for pollution control was implemented in Delhi from July 1, under which petrol pumps were banned from giving fuel to 10-year-old diesel vehicles and 15-year-old petrol vehicles. For this, ANPR cameras were installed at petrol pumps. However, the Delhi government had to withdraw this decision just 2 days later.

Diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years will no longer run on Delhi roads. These vehicles will not get petrol and diesel from any petrol pump in Delhi from 1 July 2025 i.e. today.

The Delhi government has taken this decision to clean the air of Delhi, so that the rising pollution can be controlled. Meanwhile, as part of the action against old vehicles in Delhi, Delhi Police seized 16 vehicles on Tuesday.

Action will be taken against those who break the rules

Let us tell you that this step has been taken by the Delhi government on the basis of the 2018 decision of the Supreme Court in which the use of old diesel and petrol vehicles was banned in Delhi. Along with this, in 2014, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) also banned the parking of vehicles older than 15 years in public places. In Delhi, announcements were being made through loudspeakers at petrol pumps that old vehicles will no longer get fuel. After this, such rule-breaking vehicles were seized by the police.

Cameras installed at petrol pumps

To make this campaign successful, the Delhi government has installed Automatic Number Plate Reader (ANPR) cameras at around 350 petrol pumps in the capital, so that old vehicles can be easily identified. The Transport Department has prepared a plan in collaboration with Delhi Police, Traffic Police and Municipal Corporation (MCD). Under this, many teams have been deployed in different areas of the city. Joint teams of Transport Department, Traffic Police and local police were present at many petrol pumps in South Delhi for monitoring. These teams were seen deployed at a petrol pump located in Chirag Delhi since morning.

Delhi Traffic Police is keeping a strict vigil

Delhi Traffic Police Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Jagan Lal told PTI that along with cameras, the help of central database is also being taken to identify old vehicles. He said, “The cameras send the information automatically, but our teams are also checking the details of the vehicles from our central records. This campaign is being run in collaboration with the local police and the transport department so that the rules are fully followed and law and order is maintained.”

Hriday Ram, who works at Dhingra Petrol Pump, said, “We have received clear instructions not to fill fuel in old vehicles. As soon as any such vehicle comes, or is identified by the camera, we immediately inform the police or enforcement team.” This campaign is part of the government’s efforts to reduce air pollution in Delhi.

While digital payment has made the life of the common man easier, it is becoming a new headache for petrol pump owners. Therefore, they have decided not to accept UPI and other digital payments from May 10.

The life of the common man may change a little from tomorrow. The UPI and digital payment which has made their life easier, is going to increase their problems at petrol pumps from tomorrow i.e. 10th May. Petrol pump owners have announced not to accept money from UPI and other digital platforms from tomorrow.

Due to the increase in cyber fraud through digital payments, petrol pump owners and organizations in many cities of the country have decided not to accept digital payments. According to a TOI report, petrol pumps in these cities are not only going to stop accepting payments through UPI, but they have also threatened to stop accepting payments through cards from May 10.

UPI payment will be stopped at petrol pumps here

Recently, Vidarbha Petroleum Dealers Association said that due to increasing cases of cyber fraud, petrol pump owners are facing many problems. They are also suffering financial losses due to this. Fraudsters hack the card or netbanking of the people and make payment from it. Then when a person complains in this matter, the police cancels the transaction.

The Federation of All Maharashtra Petroleum Dealers Association says that due to such cyber fraud, the accounts of many petrol pump owners have been completely blocked. Due to this, on one hand they are suffering financial loss, and on the other hand they are also facing problems in receiving the remaining payments.

A similar announcement has been made by the Petrol Pump Dealers Association of Nashik. Here the association’s president Vijay Thackeray said that he has received complaints from many petrol pump owners in this regard. Their digital transactions are cancelled and later their account is blocked.

I did not take tension earlier

Vijay Thackeray says that earlier this amount was very small, so often petrol pump owners did not pay attention to it. But now such incidents are increasing, so this decision has been taken.

Regarding this, President of Federation of All Maharashtra Petroleum Dealers Association, Amit Gupta says that the government has been informed about this. Petrol pump owners will now start digital payment only when they get assurance of appropriate action.

Now the Petrol Pump Association of Maharashtra is going to implement this decision. In such a situation, it remains to be seen how it is reacted across the country, because cyber fraud is becoming a big problem in the true sense today.

For this, devices have been installed at 80% petrol pumps in the city which will identify vehicles running without deregistered and pollution control certificates. If the rules are violated, the pump personnel will refuse to give fuel.

Use of technology for identification of overage vehicles-

The Delhi government has installed ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) cameras at petrol pumps. With the help of these cameras, they will help in identifying old and running vehicles without pollution control certificate. If someone violates these vehicle rules, the system will flag him and the pump attendants will refuse to give him fuel.

Strict action for old vehicles-

According to the instructions of the National Green Tribunal, 10-year-old diesel vehicles and 15-year-old petrol vehicles are automatically deregistered. If these vehicles are found in public places or roads, the transport department will impound them. The Delhi government has also introduced a policy to encourage owners to scrap these vehicles.

Incentive on scrapping of vehicles-

The Delhi government has also implemented an incentive scheme for scrapping of overage vehicles. Impounded vehicles will be released only if their owners agree to park them on private premises or register them in other states.

New Delhi. In Noida, two-wheeler riders without helmets will not get fuel at petrol pumps. This rule will come into effect from January 26. The Transport Commissioner has asked the pump owners to put up hoardings at their stations and spread awareness among customers by January 26.

On January 8, Transport Commissioner BN Singh instructed the pump operators not to give fuel to two-wheeler riders who do not wear helmets. It is worth noting that riding without a helmet is still the most common traffic violation in the city. Out of about 28 lakh challans issued by the traffic police last year, 17 lakh (about 68%) challans were issued for not wearing helmets.

District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma said the move is aimed at reducing road accidents involving two-wheelers. Verma said the administration has asked pump operators to put up big hoardings at their stations and inform customers about the ‘No Helmet, No Fuel’ initiative that will come into effect from January 26. “It should be ensured that bike riders are not given fuel without helmets. It will be mandatory for both the driver and the pillion rider to wear helmets,” the district magistrate said.

Five thousand challans every day

In 2022, the traffic police in the city issued over 22 lakh challans, of which nearly 60% were for helmet violations. From March 2023, the police increased the crackdown on helmet non-wearers, leading to an average of 5,000 challans per day. Referred to Section 129 of the Motor Vehicles Act 1988, according to which every person driving a two-wheeler must wear a helmet conforming to the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Section 177 of this Act states that anyone violating any provision of the Act will face a penalty.

Will it be followed?

In 2019, a similar initiative temporarily reduced helmet violations by 30%. However, some challenges were faced in its implementation. Dharamveer Chaudhary, general secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Petroleum Traders Association, expressed concern about compliance with the scheme this time too. He said, “About five years ago, the Noida administration had issued similar orders. However, there were practical problems in compliance. When bike riders are refused fuel, they start quarreling with the pump staff. This causes delay in getting fuel to others standing in the queue. ”

Petrol Pump Free Facilities: Crores of vehicles are seen running on the roads in India every day. These vehicles include diesel, petrol, CNG and electric vehicles. Most of these vehicles are based on diesel and petrol engines.

That is why diesel and petrol are consumed a lot in India. After the diesel-petrol runs out, people fill diesel at the petrol pump. The amount of petrol and diesel filled is paid accordingly.

But you do not only get the facility of diesel and petrol at the petrol pump. Rather, you also get many free facilities at the petrol pump. You are not charged a single penny by the petrol pump for using these facilities. Many people are not aware of these facilities. Due to which they miss using them. Let us tell you which free facilities are available at the petrol pump.

You can fill air in your tyres for free at petrol pumps

If the air in your car’s tyre gets low, then you usually go to a car mechanic’s shop and get it filled with air. So for this you have to pay some money. But if you fill petrol at a petrol pump and get the tyre filled with air at the petrol pump itself, then you do not have to pay any charge for it.

All Petrol Pumps Will Close From 18 August If you are planning to travel somewhere by bike around Raksha Bandhan, then this is for you. Get your vehicle’s tank filled right now, otherwise you may have to regret it.

Actually, a day before Raksha Bandhan, all petrol pumps related to Ludhiana district will remain closed. Due to the closure of petrol pumps, you may face problems in refueling your vehicle.

All Petrol Pumps Will Close From 18 August Actually, for 8 years, oil companies have not increased the margin money of petroleum dealers. Petroleum dealers are constantly demanding to increase the margin money. After no initiative was taken on the demands, now the businessmen of petrol pumps have announced to keep the petrol pumps closed every Sunday. This is being done from 18th August Sunday, i.e. a day before Rakshabandhan. This decision of the businessmen is going to have a direct impact on the holy festival of Rakhi.

Let us tell you that after tying Rakhi on the wrists of their brothers, a large number of sisters travel by vehicles to their maternal homes. Along with this, brothers also visit their sisters’ homes. Giving information, the officials of Ludhiana Petroleum Dealers Association said that they do not want to close the petrol pumps at all, but they are helpless because for the last 8 years, no special steps have been taken by the oil companies and the Modi government at the Center to increase the margin money of the dealers. During the last 8 years, inflation has increased manifold.

If you go to a petrol pump without PUC to fill petrol in your vehicle, you are bound to get a challan of Rs 10,000. The Delhi government has allotted the tender to private company Navgati Tech to install cameras and software for PUC testing at 100 petrol pumps.

The company has to start its services within 15 days. The company has been given the contract for five years.

The transport department official said that the company has been asked to prepare the system for PUC testing at at least 25 petrol pumps within 15 days. After that, the PUCC testing system will be installed at 100 petrol pumps in a few days. Its estimated cost is six crore rupees. Under the scheme, if the vehicles coming to the petrol pumps do not have a valid PUCC, then a few hours will be given for pollution testing and if the PUC is not made within this period, an e-challan of Rs 10,000 will be automatically deducted and its information will be sent to the vehicle owner on his mobile.
