Google said, “While the exact number of affected roles has not been disclosed, this move reflects Google’s broader strategy to streamline operations and reduce expenses.” Like many other tech giants, the company is reviewing its team structures in view of changing business needs and market conditions.

This development has happened at a time when many global companies including Amazon, Intel and Goldman Sachs are also cutting jobs amid the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and global economic uncertainty. According to earlier reports, Amazon is planning to cut about 14,000 managerial positions to save $3 billion annually, while Intel is preparing for a major restructuring after significant financial losses in 2024.

With the rapid growth in AI adoption, companies are increasingly focusing on cost optimization and automation, leading to job cuts across various sectors. An earlier report indicated that Goldman Sachs is also preparing to cut jobs, with plans to reduce its workforce by 3-5 percent after annual performance reviews.

Bank of America recently eliminated about 150 junior banker positions, though most of the affected employees were given roles outside of investment banking. With uncertainty about global economic conditions, more firms may do the same in the coming months.

The accident happened a day before just after the announcement of the train going to Prayagraj. Therefore, Indian Railways has taken a decision on entry and exit in the station with immediate effect.

The platform will be fixed for the special train

According to Indian Railways, keeping in mind the crowd going to Maha Kumbh, all the special trains to Prayagraj will be run only from platform number 16. This station has been completely dedicated. Earlier, special trains were run from the platform which was vacant. Due to this, passengers used to go to different platforms.

Change the rules of entry and exit

Along with this, entry and exit has been fixed for this. Passengers who have to catch the train from platform 16 will have to use the Ajmeri Gate side only. That is, passengers going by Prayagraj special trains will not be given entry from Paharganj. If you go to Paharganj by mistake, then you will have to come back towards Paharganj.

Entry for those with confirmed tickets

Passengers who have confirmed tickets for other trains to go to Prayagraj can enter from both sides, i.e. Paharganj and Ajmeri Gate.

Sangam station will remain closed till 26th

At the same time, Indian Railways has now decided to close Sangam station till 26 February. Railways had earlier decided to keep the station closed till 14th and then till 16th February. But now the date has been extended.
