According to this circular, remedial classes will be held between 7.30 am and 10.30 am. This will save children from the heat. In schools running in double shifts, remedial classes will be held in different wings to accommodate all students. Students of class 9 and 10 will study science and mathematics every day. Let us tell you that the government has extended the winter holidays in schools and Anganwadi centers in the state till January 7 in view of the severe cold. Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said on X that as per the guidelines of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, holidays have been extended till January 7 in government, aided, recognized and private schools in the state due to the cold.

Haryana and Delhi: The country’s capital Delhi and adjoining Haryana will have winter vacations from January 1 to 15, 2025. These orders have been issued for all government and private schools.

Madhya Pradesh: Schools will have winter vacations from December 31, 2024 to January 4, 2025. After this, there will be a Sunday holiday on January 5. In such a situation, schools will open from Monday, January 6.

Rajasthan: In this state, all private and government schools will remain closed for winter vacations till January 5. Strict action will be taken if children are called to school in violation of the orders.

Jharkhand: All schools here will remain closed till January 5, 2025. This order is for government schools in Jharkhand. After this, government schools across the state will open on January 6.

The orders also clarify that during these holidays, students of classes 10 and 12 running under boards like CBSE, ICSE can be called to school for practicals as per their scheduled program. This decision has been taken to prevent any disruption in the studies of students of the board’s classes.

Guidelines for School Administration

The state education department has also informed the District Education Officers, Block Education Officers and School Heads about this order. Schools have been instructed to take necessary precautions during the cold season from the point of view of health and safety of the students so that the children do not face any kind of problem.

The government has appealed to students and parents to dress their children warmly and provide them with nutritious food in the cold. Also, children should be encouraged to stay indoors so that they can avoid the cold. Apart from this, children’s time can be utilized properly by keeping them busy in small tasks.

A dry day has been declared in Chhattisgarh on the day of Guru Ghasidas Jayanti. This means that there will be a complete ban on the sale of liquor on this day.

School Timings Changed-

Cold has suddenly increased in most states including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab. Due to the drop in mercury, the Meteorological Department has issued a cold wave alert in many states. In view of this situation, the timings of schools have been changed in most districts of Madhya Pradesh.

Due to the cold wave alert in Madhya Pradesh, the timings of schools in Mandsaur have been changed. Classes will start from 9 am in all government, non-government primary and secondary schools in Madhya Pradesh. Mandsaur Collector Aditi Garg has issued instructions keeping in mind the cold wave that the primary and secondary classes of all government/non-government schools will be held at 9:00 am.

Due to the severe cold, the timings of schools in Shajapur and Mandla have also been changed. In view of the cold wave, Collector Mrs. Riju Bafna has ordered to change the timings of all government and non-government schools in Shajapur district. Classes from nursery to class VIII will now be held only after 9 am. Similarly, in Mandla, the timings of schools have also been changed in view of the increasing cold. Here, morning schools will now run from 9 am to 3 pm.
