Nayab Singh Saini government of Haryana has given a special gift to women on Raksha Bandhan. On the festival of Raksha Bandhan on 9 August, women will be able to travel for free on Haryana Roadways government buses.

This facility will also be available on 8 August. Children up to 15 years of age will also be able to travel with them for free. In Haryana, the government had started free bus service for women on Raksha Bandhan every year since 2014.

Transport Minister Anil Vij said in Chandigarh on Wednesday that the proposal has been approved by Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini. The government has decided to provide free travel facility to women of all age groups along with their children on the day of Raksha Bandhan in Haryana Roadways ordinary buses running within the state including Chandigarh and Delhi.

Free travel on the bus for two days

The travel will be free from 12 noon on August 8 to 12 midnight on August 9. The government’s decision is aimed at ensuring free travel for women to go to their brothers to tie Rakhi on Rakshabandhan.

Private buses also benefit

Preparations are being made by the Roadways Department in this regard. Roadways buses will be removed from some long routes and will be run on shorter routes or routes connecting other districts. Buses will also be run on different routes based on the number of women passengers. During these two days, buses will be run till late night to safely transport women on Raksha Bandhan.

On Raksha Bandhan, the roadways officials have cancelled the leave of all drivers, conductors and other employees. Employees will be specially put on duty at the bus stand. So that passengers do not face any kind of problem in commuting. These orders will be applicable in the roadways department as well as the permitted buses. If private buses miss their rounds on this day, then action will be taken against them by the transport department.

Bhupendra Hooda had started the scheme

This scheme was started by former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda during the Congress regime in the year 2014. Since then, women have been getting this facility every year on Raksha Bandhan.

All Petrol Pumps Will Close From 18 August If you are planning to travel somewhere by bike around Raksha Bandhan, then this is for you. Get your vehicle’s tank filled right now, otherwise you may have to regret it.

Actually, a day before Raksha Bandhan, all petrol pumps related to Ludhiana district will remain closed. Due to the closure of petrol pumps, you may face problems in refueling your vehicle.

All Petrol Pumps Will Close From 18 August Actually, for 8 years, oil companies have not increased the margin money of petroleum dealers. Petroleum dealers are constantly demanding to increase the margin money. After no initiative was taken on the demands, now the businessmen of petrol pumps have announced to keep the petrol pumps closed every Sunday. This is being done from 18th August Sunday, i.e. a day before Rakshabandhan. This decision of the businessmen is going to have a direct impact on the holy festival of Rakhi.

Let us tell you that after tying Rakhi on the wrists of their brothers, a large number of sisters travel by vehicles to their maternal homes. Along with this, brothers also visit their sisters’ homes. Giving information, the officials of Ludhiana Petroleum Dealers Association said that they do not want to close the petrol pumps at all, but they are helpless because for the last 8 years, no special steps have been taken by the oil companies and the Modi government at the Center to increase the margin money of the dealers. During the last 8 years, inflation has increased manifold.
