Whether you have a four-wheeler or a two-wheeler, high security registration plate has been made mandatory for all. Driving without it has been made as mandatory as wearing a seat belt for four-wheelers and a helmet for two-wheelers. If you do not follow these rules, then just like your challan is deducted, a traffic fine will also be imposed for not installing the High Security Registration Plate. In view of this, here we are telling you about both the online and offline process of applying for HSRP. Let us know about it in detail.

What is HSRP?

High security registration plate i.e. high security number plate is made completely of aluminium. A chromium based hologram is installed on the upper left corner of this plate, which contains all the information about the vehicle. Along with this, a unique laser code is also given for safety, which is different for every vehicle. This code cannot be removed easily. It is necessary to install it on new vehicles as well as old vehicles.

How much is the fine for not having HSRP on the vehicle?

It has been made mandatory to install high security number plates on all vehicles across India. On the other hand, if you live in Maharashtra, then you must get this number plate installed on your vehicle before 31 March 2025. This rule is for those who have got their vehicle registered before 1 April 2019. Every state has a different traffic challan amount for this, which can range from Rs 500 to Rs 5 thousand.

Delhi Parking Charge : Parking charges in Delhi are going to increase four times. Whenever the pollution level in the city reaches Stage-II of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), the Municipal Corporation of Delhi can increase the parking charge four times.

Such a proposal has been given by the MCD. If this rule is implemented, parking in Delhi will become many times more expensive. In Delhi, parking charges are on an hourly basis. Here, one has to pay a parking charge of Rs 50 to Rs 100 according to the area. For bikes, this charge starts from Rs 20 according to the area. If the parking charge is increased four times, then this parking charge can range from Rs 200 to Rs 400.

This is the reason for increase in Delhi parking charge

According to the agenda of the meeting, a four-fold increase in parking charges is proposed under Phase-II of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) as directed by the Commission for Air Quality Management in Delhi and its surrounding areas. Its aim is to control the level of pollution caused by vehicular movement in the city. Another proposal to extend the entry point toll-collection system agreement of 13 major roads connecting Delhi is also likely to be presented in the MCD House for administrative approval. The MCD House meeting is to be held today on June 27 at the corporation headquarters.

These are 13 entry points and 65 toll lanes

The civic body has also listed the extension of the contract of its RFID-based electronic toll collection system at 13 major entry points covering 65 toll lanes in the national capital as an urgent task. These major toll plazas include Kundli, Rajokri, Tikri, Aya Nagar, Kalindi Kunj, Kapashera, DND Toll Bridge, Badarpur-Faridabad (Main), Badarpur-Faridabad, Shahdara (Main), Shahdara (Flyover), Ghazipur (Main) and Ghazipur.

This is the current situation right now

The RFID system has been installed at 13 locations at a total cost of Rs 80.95 crore and GST 18 per cent including 5 years O&M through contractors- Texidell India Pvt Ltd and GHV (India) Pvt Ltd (JV) under the supervision/direction of EPCA/CAQM. The existing contract is scheduled to expire on November 25, 2024. The civic body has proposed to extend the agreement with the existing contractors for two years till 2026.
