Tirupati Train: Indian Railways has recently changed the ticket rules for Amrit Bharat Express trains. 12 Amrit Bharat Express trains starting from January 2026 will not have RAC tickets. The important train in this list is the Thiruvananthapuram North-Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express. This train travels via Renigunta Junction, which is close to the Tirupati shrine.

This route is mostly used by devotees going to Tirumala from southern states including Kerala and Tamil Nadu. There will no longer be RAC tickets in this train. The ticket will be confirmed only if the berth is vacant for the passengers. Otherwise, it will not be. However, the lack of RAC facility is likely to become a problem for devotees who book tickets at the last minute. Hence, it is advisable for those planning to travel on Amrit Bharat Express trains, especially those going to popular places like Tirupati, to book tickets in advance.

The Amrit Bharat Express trains, introduced in 2023, are designed to bridge the gap between regular Mail Express trains and premium services like Vande Bharat. These trains aim to provide better amenities, advanced safety features, and better travel comfort at lower fares. They are designed to be especially useful for low-income and lower middle class passengers. But as per the latest policy, only those with fully confirmed tickets will be able to board these trains.

The official notification issued by the Railway Board has stated that there will be no possibility of RAC tickets in Amrit Bharat II Express trains introduced from January 2026 or later. Therefore, RAC tickets will become invalid in these trains. A total of 12 Amrit Bharat trains recently launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will come under this provision. These will run on long-distance routes connecting North-East India, East India, Southern states and major metropolitan cities.

The list of 12 Amrit Bharat Express trains for which RAC tickets are not allowed includes Guwahati (Kamakhya) – Rohtak, Dibrugarh – Lucknow (Gomati Nagar), New Jalpaiguri – Nagercoil, New Jalpaiguri – Tiruchirappalli, Alipurduar – SMVT Bengaluru, Alipurduar – Mumbai (Panvel), Kolkata (Santragachi) – Tambaram, Kolkata (Howrah) – Anand Vihar Terminal, Kolkata (Sealdah) – Banaras, Thiruvananthapuram Central-Tambaram, Thiruvananthapuram North-Charlapalli, Nagercoil Junction-Mangalore Junction Amrit Bharat Express trains.
