IRCTC Train Ticket Rules: If you book train tickets from IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) website or app, then know that after July 1, you will need Aadhaar verified OTP to book Tatkal train tickets. At the same time, OTP for Tatkal train tickets is going to be mandatory after July 15. Train ticket will not be booked without OTP

How to update phone number in IRCTC account
Go to the IRCTC website. After this, log in with your username and password and go to the “My Account” section. Click on the “Update Profile” option. Here you will see the option of “Mobile Number”, after which enter the new number and click on “Submit”. After OTP verification, your number will be updated.
How will Aadhaar be updated in IRCTC account
Login to the IRCTC website and click on “My Account”. After this, choose “Link Your Aadhaar” or “KYC” option and enter the Aadhaar number. After which you will get an OTP from UIDAI for OTP verification and as soon as you enter the OTP, your Aadhaar will be linked to the IRCTC account.
Tatkal ticket booking rules have changed
According to the new rules of the railways, now booking agents have been kept out of the Tatkal ticket window which opens at 10 am and 11 am for 30 minutes. This means that booking agents will be able to book for AC at 10.30 am and for non-AC Tatkal at 11.30 am.
You will not get train ticket without OTP!
Railways has made a big change in the rules of Tatkal ticket booking. Railways said that from July 1, if you want to book a train ticket from IRCTC website or app, then Aadhaar linked users will have to book tickets through OTP, while from July 15, OTP based ticket booking will be made mandatory.
When does instant booking start?
First of all, know when you can book Tatkal tickets from IRCTC’s site. According to the rules, Tatkal booking for AC category trains starts at 10 am every day, while Tatkal ticket booking for sleeper class trains starts at 11 am every morning.
When should you login
Let us tell you that for booking AC or Sleeper, you should login 3-5 minutes before the scheduled time. By doing this, your chances of logging in at the right time without any hassle increases. Along with this, you should keep in mind that for Tatkal booking, you should never login 10-15 minutes before. By doing this, your login session will expire when the Tatkal window opens.

Before doing Tatkal booking, you should also make a master list by visiting the official website of IRCTC. By doing this, you will be saved from filling passenger details at the time of Tatkal booking and your time of booking the ticket will also be reduced.
