The Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has given information about the new update related to the Aadhar card of children. The ministry has said that UIDAI has directed to make biometric update mandatory for all children who have attained the age of 7 years. The Unique Identification Authority of India ( UIDAI) has emphasized the need to update biometric information in Aadhaar for children who have completed the age of seven years. This is a mandatory process which is already a part of the Aadhaar rules.

This rule is necessary for children
According to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, parents or guardians can easily update their child’s information by visiting any Aadhaar Service Center or authorized Aadhaar Center. The Ministry has said, the Unique Identification Authority of India ( UIDAI) has emphasized the importance of completing mandatory biometric update (MBU) for children who have attained the age of 7 years but have not yet updated their biometrics in Aadhaar. Parents or guardians can update their child’s details at any Aadhaar Service Center or Aadhaar Center.
