According to intelligence sources, information is being given to these citizens through phone calls and notices. Many families of Rampur have kinship relations with Pakistan. Some have married their daughters in Pakistan, while some have married people from Pakistan and brought their wives here. In such a situation, many Pakistani citizens were living in Rampur on long term visa for years.
After the Pahalgam attack, the Indian government has imposed all kinds of restrictions on Pakistan. The noose has also tightened on Pakistani citizens living on LTV for years. Due to security reasons, the presence of these citizens is now being re-checked and considering their LTV as void, they have been asked to apply afresh. An officer of the intelligence department said that the LTVs of 36 Pakistani citizens living on long term visas in Rampur have been cancelled.
Know the long term visa rules
Long term visa is issued for a limited period. Before the expiry of the time limit, either an application has to be made to extend it or else one has to leave the country.

Pakistan’s intelligence agencies are trying to collect information in India regarding ‘Operation Sindoor’. In this connection, efforts are being made to contact people through an active WhatsApp number of India 7340921702. After getting the update, the District Magistrate has appealed to the people to ignore this number.
According to the inputs received by the intelligence agencies, this number is being used by Pakistan to gather information about India’s military and intelligence activities. An official of the Rampur-based intelligence unit said that this is not the first time that Pakistan is doing such an act. In the past too, attempts have been made to trap Indian citizens in honeytraps in the name of women or girls.
