0

WhatsApp has introduced a new feature by which your location will not be tracked while calling. This feature provides extra layer security to increase privacy.

You have to activate it by going to settings. With this your IP address will remain secure and no one will be able to share it with you. This feature comes with peer to peer connectivity so that both parties making the call cannot see your IP address.

A new “Protect IP Address in Call” feature has been introduced by WhatsApp. After the arrival of this feature, no one will be able to track your location. Actually, currently the location of the caller could be traced through IP address. But now location information will not be available during calling. This is an extra layer security feature, which is activated while messaging or receiving a call. In such a situation, soon users will get a new feature, which will enable users to hide their IP address.

Do not share IP address with anyone

According to Meta Engineer, the new feature will protect the IP address during calling. For this you will have to change the settings. Like other calling features, peer to peer connectivity is offered by WhatsApp. Meaning both parties making the call can see each other’s IP address. Let us tell you that by obtaining information about someone’s calling IP address and Internet service provider, information about the user’s current location can be obtained. In such a situation, it would be better that the user should not share IP address and Internet service provider information with any unknown person.

How to hide IP address

  • First of all you have to download the latest version of WhatsApp.
  • App Store or Google Play Store can be used for this.
  • After this you will have to open the WhatsApp settings menu.
  • After this you have to tap on the privacy option.
  • Then the page has to be scrolled down. Then you have to tap on Advanced option.
  • Then you have to tap on Protect IP Address.
  • After this the new privacy feature can be enabled.
