If some media reports are to be believed, according to the All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI) report for the last four months, the Central Cabinet may once again increase the dearness allowance and dearness relief by 4 percent during July this year. . However, after the arrival of new figures of AICPI, it will be further decided whether the government will increase DA by 3 percent or 4 percent.

Government is preparing to bring a new formula

On the other hand, it is being claimed in the media reports that the Central Government may introduce a new formula for the Dearness Allowance calculation. It is being told that the government is planning to remove the pay commission in a few years and a new formula can be introduced to calculate the salary of central and state government employees.

There is talk of increasing the fitment factor as well.

Under the Seventh Pay Commission, 2.57 times the fitment factor is being given to the central government employees. The fitment factor can be increased from 3 to 3.68 times.

How many times the dearness allowance has been increased

The DA of government employees was frozen during Covid. Although it was opened after Kovid and 11 percent DA was increased simultaneously. Due to such a huge increase in July 2021, dearness allowance has increased from 17 percent to 28 percent.

After this, in October 2021, DA was again increased by 3 percent, due to which it reached 31 percent. After this, the dearness allowance has reached 42 per cent due to the increase of 4 per cent and then 4 per cent recently.
