Bank Account: How many bank accounts can you open? know the rules

    Bank Account : Often people have this question in their mind that how many bank accounts can they open? Will they have to pay a charge if they open more than five bank accounts? Many such questions are in the minds of customers who open bank accounts.

    The government has informed the common people about the information related to banking or bank account. For the past few days, a message was going viral on social media, due to which common people were worried. In the viral message, it was being claimed that according to the new guidelines issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), now a heavy penalty will be imposed on people having more than one bank account. But do you know whether these guidelines are correct or not?

    The government said this

    Press Information Bureau (PIB), the press agency of the Government of India, revealed the truth behind this viral message. The agency investigated the claims and shared a post on its official X handle (formerly Twitter). The post wrote that some articles are spreading the misconception that according to the new guidelines of the Reserve Bank of India, now a penalty will be imposed for keeping an account in more than one bank. RBI has not issued any such guideline. Beware of such fake news.

    PIB completely refuted the viral message stating that RBI has not issued any such guidelines. The agency constantly monitors such news that spreads rapidly on the internet and creates concern among people. Anyone can report such news to PIB for fact check.
