Bank holiday next week: If you are planning to visit the branch next week to do bank related work, then this news is for you. Actually, banks will remain closed for four days next week between 22 June to 28 June 2026. Let us tell you that Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released a list of 11 holidays this month due to national, regional and religious holidays. This includes holidays on second Saturday, fourth Saturday and all Sundays. Although, some bank holidays vary according to states or regions, but bank branches across the country will remain closed on government national holidays.
When are the holidays next week?
According to the RBI holiday calendar, banks will remain closed on June 25, 26, 27 and 28 next week. Banks will remain closed in many areas of the country on June 25 and 26 due to Muharram. Banks will remain closed in Vijayawada on June 25. On the other hand, banks will remain closed in Agartala, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi and Srinagar on June 26. Banks will remain closed across the country on June 27 as it is the fourth Saturday and June 28 is Sunday.
Holidays Calendar for June 2026
Banks will be closed in Aizawl on June 15 to commemorate the founding of the Young Mizo Association (YMA). Banks will also be closed in Bhubaneswar on this day due to Raja Sankranti. Banks will be closed in Vijayawada on June 25 due to Muharram. Furthermore, banks will be closed in Agartala, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, and Srinagar on June 26 due to Muharram. Banks will also be closed in Shimla on June 29 to commemorate Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti. Similarly, banks will be closed in Aizawl on June 30 due to Remna Ni, a regional public holiday.
Holidays on Saturdays and Sundays
As per Reserve Bank guidelines, all scheduled and non-scheduled banks are mandatorily closed on every second and fourth Saturday of the month and every Sunday. This means that customers will not be able to avail of in-branch services on these days. It should be noted that there are four Sundays in this month, so banks will be closed on June 7, 14, 21, and 28. In addition to Sundays, banks will also be closed on June 13 (second Saturday) and June 27 (fourth Saturday).
