Bank Holiday: In some states of India, banks will be closed on Friday 27 June 2025 on the occasion of Rath Yatra. After this, June 28 is the fourth Saturday of the month and June 29 is Sunday.

Banks are going to remain closed in some states of the country on June 30 as well. If seen, banks are going to remain closed for four days in some states. This long weekend can cause delays in loan distribution, check clearance and other branch based services. Therefore, it is advised to complete the necessary banking work on time and use digital banking services more.

In which states will banks remain closed?

Banks will remain closed on 27 June 2025 due to Rath Yatra in Odisha and Manipur. But this holiday is not valid in other states of India, so banks will remain open as usual there.

Banks closed in Mizoram on June 30

Apart from this, banks will remain closed on June 30, 2025 on the occasion of ‘Remna Ni’ (Peace Day) in Mizoram.

What is Rath Yatra?

Rath Yatra, also known as Rath Jatra, is a world famous Hindu festival celebrated in Puri (Odisha). It is a festival in which Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra come out of the temple in chariots and roam around the city. It is celebrated every year in June-July (Ashadha month).

When will the banks remain closed in June 2025?

June 27 (Friday): Rath Yatra / Kang (Rathajatra) – Banks closed in Odisha and Manipur.

June 30 (Monday): Remna Ni – Banks closed in Mizoram.

28 June (Saturday – Fourth Saturday)

29 June (Sunday)

Digital banking service will remain operational

During the holidays, all your digital services like net banking, mobile app, UPI, wallet and ATM will continue to work as before. That means you can do online transactions without any problem. But if you have to deposit a cheque, get a draft made, open an account or do any kind of work by visiting a bank branch, then it would be better if you finish these tasks before the holidays.
