The company working on the project says that even though this is our first project in Delhi, we are already working on metro rail projects in eight cities in different parts of the country along with other projects.
Giving a good news to the people of Delhi, the railway administration said that under the fourth phase of Delhi Metro, an important corridor will be constructed between Lajpat Nagar and Saket G Block. This route of about 7 kilometers is expected to be completed within the next 36 months i.e. three years. On Tuesday, the construction branch of the Railway Ministry informed that there will be a total of seven stations on this route. According to the information received, the estimated cost of this project is about Rs 447.42 crore.
These seven stations will be on this route
Giving information about this, the company officials said that along with the design and construction of elevated viaduct on this 7.298 km long route, seven elevated station platforms will also be built. They said that this metro route will pass through Saket G Block Pushp Vihar, Saket District Center, Pushp Bhawan, Chirag Delhi, GK-1, Andrews Ganj and Lajpat Nagar stations.
Company bid- transportation will be easy
The responsibility of completing this project has been given to Rail Vikas Nigam, which is a PSU (Public Sector Undertaking) under the Ministry of Railways. This is the first project of Delhi Metro which has been awarded to RVNL. Regarding this, the company says that this project will make public transport in the national capital more easy, sustainable and efficient. In a press release issued by RVNL, it has been said that ‘getting this project reflects the company’s growing presence in the development of urban transport infrastructure.’
On the other hand, giving information about this, the company’s Chairman and Managing Director Pradeep Gaur said, ‘RVNL has got an important opportunity in the form of this project to contribute to the future-ready infrastructure in Delhi. We are committed to complete it with excellence, safety and new experiments. At the same time, we also stand with DMRC’s vision of creating a completely world-class urban traffic system.’
Gaur further said, ‘Even though this is our first project in Delhi, RVNL is already working on metro rail projects in eight cities in different parts of the country along with other projects.’ According to various media reports, small metro trains with three coaches will be run on this route. About 300 passengers will be able to sit in one coach.
Due to this, the stations built on this route will also be smaller in size and their length will be less than a normal metro station and they will be only 74 meters long. Due to which not only will their cost be less and their construction will be faster, but their maintenance will also be less in future.
