Gold Silver Rate Today 21 Jan: The strong rise in the prices of gold and silver continued on Wednesday, 21 January. This rise is being seen due to the increase in demand for safe investments due to global uncertainty. In today’s trade, gold with February contract delivery on Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) made a new record at ₹ 1,54,710 per 10 grams with a stormy rise of Rs 4100 or 3 percent. Similarly, there was a good increase in the March contract delivery of silver also. The price of silver rose by more than 2,800 or about 1% and reached a new all-time high of ₹ 3,26,487 per kg.
Prices at record levels in the global market too
Gold is also trading at record highs in the global market. In the international market, US gold futures gained nearly 2% to reach $4,847.20 per troy ounce. This rise is being attributed to fears of a growing trade war between the US and the European Union, a weak dollar, and strong retail demand in the domestic market. Investors are viewing gold as a safe-haven investment amid uncertainty.

According to Good Returns, on Wednesday, January 21, 24 carat gold is being sold at Rs 1,55,460 and 22 carat gold at Rs 1,42,500 in Chennai. Whereas, in Mumbai, the price of 24 carat gold was recorded at Rs 1,54,800, while 22 carat gold was recorded at Rs 1,41,900. In Delhi, 24 carat gold is being sold at Rs 1,54,950 and 22 carat gold at Rs 1,42,050 per 10 grams. In Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kerala and Pune, the price of 24 carat gold was recorded at Rs 1,54,800 and 22 carat gold at Rs 1,41,900 per 10 grams. Apart from this, 24 carat gold is being sold at Rs 1,54,850 and 22 carat gold at Rs 1,41,950 per 10 grams in Vadodara and Ahmedabad.
