UP News: The Uttar Pradesh government is going to simplify and make the property-related services in urban bodies uniform. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed that the same procedure and fee system should be implemented in all municipal corporations, municipal councils and nagar panchayats in cases like will, partition or transfer. The government’s aim is that the citizens of the state should get equal, transparent and simple services.
At present, the fee and procedure for will or property division are different in different cities of the state. For example, in Ghaziabad, a fee of ₹5000 is charged for the transfer of will, while in Lucknow Municipal Corporation it is free. In Meerut, a 3% fee has to be paid on property division, while in Prayagraj only ₹2000 is charged. Similarly, there is a huge difference in many municipal councils and Nagar Panchayats, due to which common people have to face a lot of trouble and confusion.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to end this inequality. Now uniform rules and fees will be implemented in the entire state according to the standards set by the Housing and Urban Planning Department. The advantage of this will be that citizens will neither have to wander in different cities nor pay different amounts. The same process and fee everywhere will also increase transparency and curb corruption.
Work to fix new rules and fee rates has begun.
Not only will there be uniformity in wills and partition, but also in the process of property tax determination. Now, in Nagar Nigam, Nagar Palika Parishad and Nagar Panchayats, all the work from tax determination to transfer will be done under a fixed rule. This will not only speed up the process, but will also save both time and money of the citizens.
The Yogi government has also started the work of setting new rules and fee rates in this direction. Soon this proposal will be presented before the cabinet. The government’s aim is to make the life of common people easier by ensuring ‘ease of living’.
It is worth noting that in the last few years, the UP government has made many major reforms in urban bodies. Such as making property details online, starting the transfer facility at home and promoting digital payment of taxes. Now with this new initiative, all the citizens of the state will get more simple, fast and transparent services.
